After spending a weekend in Kyoto, it is time to go back to Hong Kong. It is somehow great to have some short trips like this, as I don’t really need to put much effort on packing my luggages, buying souvenirs for colleagues etc. And the facilities in Japan still gave me great relaxation during the days staying there.

My flight departs at around 6pm and so at around 2:30pm I got on the train and headed directly to the Kansai International Airport. Actually, the quality of those lunch boxes from Japan is really great. It was nice to enjoy the food while taking a train to the airport. You may say it is a trick to save time.
The train is decorated with the famous cartoon character Hello Kitty.

Finally arrived at Kansai International Airport.

Wow, after i got into the terminal building and was shocked by the long queue of passing the security check. I did not visit the airline's counter this time, after seeing such a long long queue. I did not get any luggage to be checked in. I finished the online check-in process and got my QR code for boarding already. I directly joined the queue. It takes around 20 - 30 minutes before arriving the security check counter. The queue is long, but seems that they got some volunteers to help to control the flow of passengers, and such that people could get into the security check counter orderly.

After passing the security counter, actually it is quite fast to pass through the immigration counters and the customs.
The main part of the renovation work at the terminal building just completed some days before i visited the terminal. Therefore some displays congratulating the reopening of the stores could be seen.

The environment of the terminal really improves a lot after the renovation. The environment is stylish, cozy and comfortable. The signs are clear and even they gave estimation of the time to walk to each departure gate. But i guess it would be nice to display those flight information in sequence. Some flight information in between was sometimes skipped at the information board and I need to wait for them to refresh before i knew my boarding gate number.

And here is my flight today, what a nice view of the plane under the sunset time!

Boarding was smooth. Today the boarding gate was at gate 18. It is not far away from the immigration counters. Seems that the departure time changed 10 minutes earlier than scheduled time. (But I don't quite understand, there seems no notification about the flight time change through SMS or email, and what if people really go to the airport at a tight time, then will they miss the flight because of this change…?)

And this is my economy class seat to Hong Kong from KIX.The legroom is wider than I expected. The seat configuration is 3-3-3 for the economy class section of this flight.

The inflight entertainment system. The interface is clean, easy to navigate. And the screen is responsive. I remember that quality of the camera is bad and so I didnt stick to the inflight camera of this flight at the entertainment system.

Here is the flight map:

Lucky to see some night view of Kansai Area, like Osaka / Kobe during takeoff.

The dinner was distributed afterwards. No menu card was distributed but I remembered that I picked the spaghetti option. With fruit as the refreshment and ice cream as the dessert. And I remember that there are several choices of the flavour of the ice cream and I picked the chocolate one. The dish is delicious.

Interesting to see that there is a song list of boarding music at the Cathay's inflight entertainment system. But I didn't have time to listen to them. hope that I could have time to enjoy them next time, or see if the songs are available at YouTube or somewhere else then.

I watched some episodes of travel documentary during the flight. I missed them before and was glad that I could find them on CX’s inflight entertainment system.
It was about time to land at HKG. It was cloudy near HKG and so I could not get a night view of Hong Kong from the flight.

The arrival gate was a little bit far away from the immigration counter. But it is ok with the lift installed at the Hong Kong International Airport. I did not have any checked in luggage and so I could directly take transportation back to the city center, after passing through the immigration counter and the customs. But the amount of taxi seems not enough. I would need to wait for around 20 minutes before getting on one.
