As I didn't take any pictures on the CDG-LAX because I was so tired by the jetlag and the long journey home and caring for my niece, there are no flight report on the CDG-LAX. On the LAX-PPT I had more time as the little princess went to sleep quickly.
We are welcomed on board by a lovely crew, the Tahiti based Air France cabin attendants are truly amazing, you can feel the warmth of the islands as soon as you board the plane !
I take my seat and put the little one on 4L.
The view from our seats.
The NEV 3 seat controls.
The crew will offer the welcome drinks soon after boarding is over with a choice of Champagne, Orange juice or water.
Taxiing is short at LAX as Terminal 2 is very close to the runway's threshold. The safety demonstrations are shown, here are a few pictures.
I find the Air France safety demonstrations very classy, very elegant.
We take off towards the Pacific Ocean on time and in a little over 8 hours we will we in French Polynesia.
The female cabin attendants change uniforms and come back in their tahitian dresses to give us tonight's menu. Few passengers are awake as it is very late. The dinner won't have much success as most passengers are sleeping apart a few Flight Reporters like me who have to stay awake for the dinner and make a complete report !
The cabin crew will offer a glass of Champagne for the apéritif before the beginning of the meal service. I decline the Champagne and I am offered another drink I would prefer. I also decline the offer and wait for the meal.
Starter is a Scallop terrine, duck breast and fig compote and I am drinking 2 glasses of water !!!
The main course, Riccotta stuffed ravioli with a tomato and red bell pepper coulis.
The same one but with the flash on !
And finally dessert, a little trio of pastries, the chocolate navette is divine !!!
Dessert is followed by the tea, coffee and liqueur service. I find that the meal is very filling so I'll stop at the dessert !
After the meal, the crew will come with the Duty-Free trolley through the cabin.
Soon after the lights are dimmed down and switched off, every body goes to sleep, even me…
1 hour and 30 minutes before our arrival in Papeete, the crew switch on the lights in the cabin and hand out a hot towel.
For breakfast there is a choice of a cheese and cold cut plate or the hot dish with french toast. On the tray you also have fresh fruits, yogurt, jam, breads and danish pastries.
We are approaching our final destination !
You may have noticed that the flight isn't a straight line. As the route is operated by a twin engine aircraft, we have to fly a little closer to Honolulu just in case we encounter a problem, it is the aircraft's ETOPS regulations that wants it this way !
Another 40 or so minutes before we land in Papeete at Tahiti International Airport !
Happy to be home, we go through passport controls and the pick up our bags that arrived on the carrousel rapidly. We go though customs, we are now officially in Tahiti !
A few pictures of my beautiful home silands !
Los Angeles - LAX
Papeete - PPT
A perfect flight !
