A visual of my entire journey from Athens to Salt Lake City via JFK & LAX which would cover a total distance of 8,006mi/12,883km. This trip report will cover the last leg of this long journey.

Introduction
Welcome everyone to the last trip report of this series! Between my last transcontinental flight and this next one to SLC I had a short overnight layover here in LAX. I settled with spending the night for a few hours at an empty gate area and getting a few short hours of rest. I woke up at around 3am and decided to stay awake and wait until the Sky Club at T3 to open up. At 4:30 I was let in by the friendly staff and made my way straight to the coffee station 😅 and for some small bites.

This morning at the club there was a plentiful array of breakfast items. I went for some cheesy egg bites, steamed potatoes and croissant which filled the spot.

After quickly having my breakfast, I had to make my way straight to the gate as they would be boarding very shortly. This morning I would be departing out of gate 24 for my flight to Salt Lake City. Because of my silver medallion status, like on my last flight, I was upgraded at check-in to comfort+ which should make this a lot nicer experience.

Although I was assigned 17F, a few hours before boarding I had changed my seat to 15F for two reasons; one it had better window alignment and two because at the moment of checking it looked like it would have an empty middle seat so fingers crossed it would stay like that.

Boarding
Boarding began right on time and I boarded with comfort+ group.

This would be the only view I'll have of my aircraft taking me up to SLC this morning.

Some information about my plane:
Flight number: DL 2906
Aircraft: Airbus A321-271NX
Registration: N523DE
Delivered: May 5, 2023
Age: 6 months (at time of flight)
This A321neo is configured into three classes with 20 First class, 42 Comfort+ and 132 Main cabin with a total capacity of 194 seats. Seat map courtesy of aerolopa.

This was technically still a brand spanking new A321neo at the time of this trip and could still sense the new plane smell while boarding the aircraft. Quite the contrast to my pervious DL 767 aircraft that was over three decades old 😅.

Seat 15F (comfort+)
Here's my home for the next 1.5h

At each seat there is nice sized PTV.

Legroom is very good. These seats offer 34" of pitch, I'm 5'9" for reference.

During boarding the FA's handed each passenger a pair of these Delta studio headphones. I have the same pair of these headphones I got almost two years and are still working perfectly. Which shows that these are pretty good airline headphones and the sound quality is actually quite good.

Next to us is N703TW, a Boeing 757-200 that'll be leaving shortly after us across the country to Boston; flight time: 5h 4m

Here's a look at the overhead panel which includes individual air vents and reading lights. The FA call button is located within the IFE system.

Boarding is complete and I lucked out in having the middle seat free on this flight. It's always nice to have the middle seat empty as it gives you a tiny bit more space to spread out. Total load factor on this morning flight up to SLC is about 75%.

Pushback
You can check out the entire pushback and takeoff video below:
We pushed back from the gate right on time.

The safety video began playing.

Cabin lights were dimmed for takeoff.

Takeoff
This morning we'll be departing on runway 24L.

Until next time LA!

Flying over Huntington Beach.

Ontario International airport (ONT)

I've reviewed Delta's IFE system many times and it's fantastic. However for this short flight I decided to just settle with just keeping the interactive map on my screen.

Gradually the sun began to rise over the horizon which made for some spectacular views.

Inflight service
About 30 minutes into flight the FA's came through the cabin with the snack and beverage service. For snacks you had an option between almonds, biscoff cookie and a granola bar. For drinks I went for an orange juice and red wine. One of the perks of flying comfort+ are that alcoholic beverages are complimentary on domestic flights.

Who needs inflight entertainment when you have views like these 😍.

Tray table and seatback contents
Let's take a look at the tray table which was of standard size and extendable.

First we have the entertainment guide which also features a guide on how to log onto the free wifi.

And last we have the usual safety information card.

After the inflight service, I spent the remainder of the flight just gazing out my window.

Initial descent
Not long after we began our initial descent into Salt Lake City

You can check out the entire descent and landing at the video below:

Lake Utah

The FA's began preparing the cabin for landing.

Taking a dip below the clouds.

landing
Today we'll be landing on runway 16R.

Welcome to Salt Lake City!

Arrival at gate
We arrived at the gate 15 minutes ahead.

Finally back home!

This concludes the trip report series, thanks a lot of reading ;)
