Introduction
Hey Y'all, welcome back! I recently flew on an American Airlines A320 on my way to Montreal. It still had the old music system in the arm rests. On the way back I flew on Air Canadas new A220-300 so be on the look out for that one. Also don't forget to check out my flight review video to compare the two and feel free to subscribe, it would really help me out! Now lets get into it!
Check-In
Welcome to Terminal C.
American Airlines has these great self-checking kiosks where you can check in yourself and get your boarding pass and luggage tags.
Side note, if you're flying with American Airlines, you can only put golf stuff in your golf bag. You cannot pack it with any extra clothes or anything because they will make you take it out and repack it into another bag. So just a heads up if you are trying to use your golf bag to pack other stuff.
Since I was flying economy, I did not have any lounge access, but if you have a credit card like the capital one credit card, you can get lounge access in terminal E with the Capital One lounge. And I've never been there for breakfast, so it was fun to see what was different. I took a quick ride on the skylink over to terminal E and it was fun to see all of the planes. I even spotted a private 787-9 operated by Korean Air for charters only.
The Capitol One lounge had some amazing breakfast options like these cinnamon rolls that were which were absolutely delicious, and they also had these pigs in a blankets and some breakfast sandwiches too.
After some quick plane spotting, it was time to head back to terminal C to catch our flight, and on the way,
I was able to catch this picture of our plane the A320 registered as November 117 uniform whiskey that will be taking me down to Montreal today.
The terminal was absolutely packed.
To board the plane I did not even need by boarding pass, all I had to do was hold up my passport and the tablet took a picture of me and my passport and a second later they let me onto the plane.
This was one of Americans oldest A320 being almost 24 years old. The cabin was very outdated, the seats did not even feature a head rest. There was a single fold tray table, a literature pocket, a power plug, personal air vent, and a personal reading light. The arm rest also had the old music setup. It did not work though so that is to bad.
As we taxied out this plane go very close, I thought there might be a wing collision but thankfully there was not.
Shortly after to take off, they came around with an option of pretzels or Bischoff cookies. I got the pretzels, they were not bad and also got some water too.
The rear lavatory on this flight was very cramped and dirty, there was a few dirty paper towels scattered everywhere and there was no seat covers left.
During this flight the inflight entertainment that is normally streamed to your personal device was not working which was a bummer for this 3.5 hour flight. they did also sell Wi-Fi but it was pretty pricey going all they way up to $700 for 2 devices for the whole year.
After this it was time to land and everything went smoothly. The customs in Montreal was a little bit of a disaster because there was a few other flights getting in at the same time but it did not take to long.
Oh man, I'd almost forgotten AA still had these old US Airways cabins on A320s! It's been ages since I flew an AA A320 (get mostly 737s or A321s when I fly AA domestically). At least they have Power outlets now...so a slight improvement over the US Airways days I guess.
Did you not have a wait to get in? I went through DFW twice in the past week or so and both times the Capital One Lounge was packed with about an hour wait to get in....luckily I had access to the Flagship Lounge next door. It was actually annoying how the crowds of people waiting to get in to the Capital One Lounge were blocking the way to get to the AA Flagship Lounge. It was a zoo!
I did spend a few minutes in the Capital One Lounge and will say that the food is pretty good.
Thanks for sharing!
