Introduction

This trip report is from Dec 2024. I had travelled from Brisbane to Rockhampton on Alliance Airlines codeshare partner of Virgin Australia.

Alliance Airlines codeshares with both Qantas and Virgin Australia on regional routes. Fokkers fly the regional Queensland and WA routes.  Chose this route specially to experience flying on Fokkers as they are rare outside Australia.

I booked an itinerary, where I could fly on both the Fokker types.

This is the first report from Rockhampton, Queensland on the website.

Pre-Departure and check-in

I had booked ticket through the Virgin Australia website.  Having received a upgrade offer, I had bid accepted for two flights.

Conclusion

Alliance Airlines departed and arrived ahead of schedule. Being a short regional flight, seat was comfortable, crew was friendly. Entertainment was to watch people and outside the window unless bought own content. Drink was provided on this flight.

Domestic travel is mostly hassle free within Australia. Brisbane has a common domestic terminal which makes transit easy.

Rockhampton is a regional airport served by few flights, not busy. Airport environment is relaxed and easy to navigate.

  • Wow, koresh! I loved that oldish-looking cabin. The seats look so comfortable. I had no idea that Fokker had produced large aircraft like the Fokker 100, too. I always linked Fokker to small planes. But those must be the baby Fokkers, and the Fokker 100 must be the Mother Fokker. I guess.

    Thanks for sharing! 😜

    • Purpose of this trip was to ride the Fokkers, Flight was comfortable, cabin was clean and well maintained for the age of aircraft.

      Thanks for your comment.
