As we landed in Detroit, we only wanted to forget the preceding flight and Nelly. I ask my parents if they like to spend the two and half hours of waiting time in the Delta Lounge, and they gladly accept ;)
As I got an Elite Plus card, I am allowed to have one guest free of charge and a second one for USD 50.- It's quite expensive but we needed to relax!
As we arrived at the lounge I handed our BP's and my card over and explained I wanted to purchase an additional access for my father. The lounge attendant looked at the documents and hands them back with a big smile saying: 'As a loyal Sky Team Elite Plus member, you will certainly not pay another fee. Please come in and enjoy'.
I was bluffed by this, I haven't asked for anything and this was a real surprise. I was so hapy that I told her the Nelly story. She called a colleague of hers to listen to the story and will urge us to make a claim as this should never happen.
We then head upstairs to take a bit of rest. The lounge is quite empty, lots of room to spread out:

My selection:

The buffet is as usual, industrial cheeses, packaged humous, veggies, dips and salty munchies. The hard drinks side was ok, but no pictures unfortunately.
The wines are sub-par:

Hot drinks:

Detroit is a very nice airport to transit, with the sky train that runs from one side of the concourse to the other one. There are lots of things to do, but after having seen Yellowstone, Valley of Fire and Red Rock Canyon, we did not really visit the airport ;)

Our plane for tonight, Zoulon Papa, sorry no better pictures as the airport windows were not really spotter friendly.

On time boarding and this is the A340-300 cabin with the old seats, I really like them as they are more padded, recline more and are just more comfortable. Sure, the IFE is outdated, but the seats are much better.

Leg room and my two PTV as I won't have any neighbour:

Dinner is served shortly after take off, no aperitive service though:

Chicken and noodles, the other choice being the salmon parmentier (quite the usual choice on TATL flights with AF.) The salad was announced as being coleslaw, but it as neither the color nor the taste. Good, however. Dessert was just ok.
Two wing shoots that my father took:

Breakfast is served an hour before landing:

I'll ask for 4 sugars, and the crew member will laugh while saying that this isn't really healthy. I'll explain that two sugars are for the coffee and the remaining two for the plain yogurt. She'll answer: 'They are plain? That's not good, I'll make a report to the catering departement'.
I'll tell her that within the last 10 years of AF/TATL flights they have always been plain. She'll answer that now she knows why people always ask for more sugar ;)
