Hello everyone,
I’m meeting you on a rather exceptional trip. Indeed, having to visit several friends in a rather limited time, I embark on a world tour, which I tried to have as avgeek as possible. This one has the following routing:
Enchainement de vols
- 1AF983 - Economique - Paris → Tel Aviv - Airbus A350
- 2EK932 - Economique - Tel Aviv → Dubaï - Boeing 777-300 ER
- 3EK414 - Economique - Dubaï → Sydney - Airbus A380-800
- 4NF11 - Economique - Sydney → Port-Vila - Boeing 737-800
- 5VA56 - Economique - Port-Vila → Brisbane - Boeing 737-800
- 6VA986 - Economique - Brisbane → Sydney - Boeing 737-800
- 7QF11 - Economique - Sydney → Los Angeles - Airbus A380-800
- 8DL2267 - Economique - Los Angeles → San Francisco - Airbus A320
- 9AF083 - Economique - San Francisco → Paris - Boeing 777-300 ER
The first stop is Tel Aviv in Israel. I went there by A350 Air France. Since the flight had already been reported recently, I didn’t think it was very useful to do so.
Having to go to Sydney from Tel Aviv, I dream of being able to take back the A380. This will be possible with Emirates.
Indeed, since the Abraham agreements between Israel and Morocco, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, Tel Aviv is now served by Royal Air Maroc, Gulf Air, Etihad and Emirates.
I will therefore borrow the flight symbol of his agreements, and a first for me with Emirates.
This flight is all the more special and Av Geek, as Israel does not have a diplomatic relationship with Saudi Arabia, but thanks to this flight, planes departing/arriving from Israel now have the right to fly over Saudi Arabia.
I go to Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv by train and then to the center of Tel Aviv for 9ILS (about 2,50€).
Very few people at Emirates check-in, especially thanks to 6 check-in counters opened for this only flight.
Then, head to the security checks that will be shipped out in 5 min.
Rarely seen so few people at the end of Tuesday afternoon at TLV
Then, beginning of the spotting with this B787 RJ and this B737-800 LY
The famous FIDS of TLV
A319 Air Serbia
A321 Neo Swiss
A330-900 Neo Delta
Time always passing faster spotting, I arrive at boarding in the last.
And there, meet the smallest aircraft in the Emirates fleet, the B777-300 ER:
In the jet bridge, seen on our neighborhood, a white A220?!?
This is the flight of Egyptair. The story of this flight is quite particular, and is told by several youtubeurs.
Doar time
Fuselage shot
Nice welcome at the gate
Let's go until economy
Here is the business class
Premium economy
And, finally, my seat, at the end of economy : 49K
First impression, the seat is large and comfortable.
Pitch very generous and IFE big enough
Presence of a cushion, a cover and a noise-reducing helmet on each seat in economy.
More than comfortable for a 3h flight
On board magazine still available
Where you are offered to buy back the remainder of EK’s 1st A380
Outside, it’s busy loading the last suitcases.
Sight on El Al B787
We’ll push back on time, with a rather original message from the captain, boasting the merits of the B777
Passage in front of the new TLV parking area
Then, we will line up on the 24, in front of 3 former B747 of EL AL
Takeoff facing the Mediterranean Sea
Then turn around above TLV
And crossing again over Ben Gurion airport
We’ll continue our journey east passing over Jerusalem
Then, over the Dead Sea, symbolizing the passage from Israel to Jordan
Beautiful sunset over Jordan
Before the service, I want to try the wifi service.
It seems to work and offers flight information, but is fully charged even for just using courier services
The service will start less than an hour after we take off.
I received my KSML tray like this
Surprise the KSML tray was not produced by TLV catering.
The tray comes from "Kosher Arabia" and is produced in Dubai.
This service seems new, and comes in connection with Abraham’s agreements.
The tray once opened
Everything will be really excellent for a kosher tray, and in large portions given the duration of the flight.
Very good point for Emirates
Drinks will be served on a tray.
Amazingly, Emirates does not offer the world’s best-selling American beverage
I will continue the flight by watching a film, among the wide selection proposed by Emirates
Then we’ll start the approach off the coast of Dubai
Passing the Burj Khalifa
Landing soon
more easy to follow thanks to the camera
Landing on time in Dubai
Barely touched, a flight reporter job is requested by Emirates.
At the sight of this flight, everything will be quite positive
We’ll go parking very quickly.
I am literally impressed by the B777 and A380 EK skewer.
It’s just impressive and seems endless.
We’ll go parking next to this other B777 EK
Some information for connection in DXB
The deboarding wil take place very quickly
I leave you on the way to connecting flights
Thanks for reading
See you soon on my connecting flight on the A380

Oh wow, a round-the-world trip, awesome!
Great that you had a good first experience on Emirates!
I think that's just regular Economy towards the front of the plane. As far as I know EK don't have Premium Economy on any 777s, just some A380s.
I think this is the first time I've ever heard a Y seat in 3-4-3 configuration on a 777 described as large. I always find them so narrow and avoid 3-4-3 777s, but glad that the seats can feel wide for some! The pitch is indeed quite generous by today's standards.
I'm guessing you mean "Instant Messaging" services...that might be a bad google-translation there. "Courier" services is hand-delivered mail or packages.
The meal looks very good for a 3h flight, as can be expected on EK.
Thanks for sharing!
