Short tour of LISA to reach Terminal 2

Head to Terminal 2E.
And, in particular, zone 3 recording, grouping all skyteam companies operating from the 2E, except AF and DL.

Our flight is well marked, physically, divided into 3 check-in areas: Business / Morning Calm / Economy:

Check-in will be quite slow, while few queues, and many open counters.
A Korean Air representative will be present and will be fluent in Korean.
Security checks will be passed quickly.
Person and Parafe perfectly functional.
Head to Hall L, and a little tour of LISA.
So many trains at CDG!

Not a lot of cameras this Friday night.

Quite slow passage of security controls in hall L.
It promises for the JOP.
The FIDS of Hall L

Passage by duty free, always composed of major European luxury brands:

Today's spotting
A350 Air France

B777-300 Air France

B787-8 Kenya Airways

B787-9 Air France

And finally, the beast of the day
Korean Air B747-8
1st time for me on B747-8

While waiting for boarding, I will continue the visit of the 2E
The famous cat:

2nd A350 Air France

A380 Emirates and A320 Easyjet

Boarding will begin on time.
Priorities well respected.
Then, separation of flows.
Management, Prestige class today;)

Direct access to the upper deck will not be available

Fuselage shot :

Doar time :

Cordial welcome at the door
Quick view of economy class

And, towards the upper deck for me
My first time on the 1st floor of a plane;)

Full Business Upper Deck

My seat, the 17 A :

The pitch is obviously royal:

The ceiling light confirms the new generation of B747

The different elements present on the seat
Surprised by the slippers offered, but which will be very useful throughout the flight

Today's menu :

The flight attendant, who will be very cordial, will take our order for the entire flight before departure:

The screen of the day is quite large, good quality and responsive.
The content is quite international, and very Korean too:

A first video presenting Korean Air will be broadcast before the safety video, with a clear message, the excellence sought by Korean Air

The contents of the package:

The noise cancelling helmet, Korean Air logo.
Very good quality, and will effectively reduce the noise of our 4 engines :

The safety video will be launched before what was supposed to be the theoretical start

B777-300 China Eastern

Nevertheless, we will push back with almost 1 hour delay.
I’m starting to worry about my three-hour correspondence at ICN.
The camera will not track the taxi efficiently.
Resolution and framing are pretty bad

Takeoff with 1 hour delay
Crossing over Le Bourget airport:

Then, overview of the Parisian region:

Before half-way north, to follow our road to Seoul.
The colors of the end of the day are beautiful:

Immediately following the passage of the cloud layer, a tablecloth will be laid and service will begin:

Aperitif of the day:

Followed by fairly European entry.
Salmon cheese cake, accompanied by an Australian white wine.
Everything will be very good:

I accompany the service, of a Korean film, retracing the history of South Korean marathoners after the Second World War, and their "dazzling" successes:

The place of the day will be a Korean bimbimbap.
Everything is excellent, well presented, and obviously very much to the taste of my Korean neighbor.

Dessert service will begin with a plate of fruit, and a plate of cheese.
Followed by a cheese cake that will be very good:

Very nice performance from Korean for this dinner.
Before enjoying the bed, and a night’s sleep, take a look at the amenity kit:

The pouch will be quite original, including a comb and a shoehorn:

Mood lighting will be activated to let the PAX rest.

I will switch to bed mode as we fly over Bucharest:

Confirmed by the interactive map, very precise and pleasant.
With, our camera very faithfully reproduces:

The bed will be very comfortable.
I will ask for a second blanket and a second cushion, which will be brought to me quickly:

I would sleep almost 9 hours, punctuated by the different areas of turbulence quite strong.
We will be awakened by the breakfast service offered 3 hours before the landing.
It seems very early!
We then fly over mainland China:

Under a fairly compact cloudy sky :

I will try the Korean breakfast, which will not be to my liking, but again very appreciated by my Korean neighbor:

I’ll switch to continental breakfast.
The omelette will be good, and well tasted

The service will be complemented by a plate of fresh fruit:

The breakfast service will again be very good.
Congratulations to Korean Air for this catering!
I will start a last movie, before enjoying the bed for the last 3 hours of the flight.
Once again, a Korean Air quality ad will be proposed:

The descent will start 20 min before the landing, close to Seoul

View of the islands near Inchenon:

The camera will not yet be of high quality, but will allow to follow, approach, then landing:

Immediate landing at ICN :

Confirmed by the track, and the famous writing "INCHEON":

Landed with a 50 min delay at ICN.
I always worry about my transfer:

Korean Air Service Shop Visit:

Terminal 2 is very blue, and very Korean Air friendly:

A lot of diversity on the Korean Air side, but also Skyteam.
DL in A350 in special delivery JOP

B777-300 Korean Air :

B777-300 Korean with SkyTeam colours :

And all of a sudden, we’re gonna come to a stop in the middle of the taxiway.
The cabin manager will announce a 40-minute downtime, because our door is not available.
I will worry even more about my correspondence, as I have to pick up my suitcase and change terminal.
For once, there seems to be a lot of traffic and management difficulties at ICN.

I will take the opportunity to complete the visa application for South Korea.
The paper was given to us very late in my opinion, just before the landing in Seoul.

We’ll leave a Korean Air B787 behind, then drive to our door:

Passing a B737 max 8 and a B787 9 Korean Air before reaching our door:

Very surprised to see our door, not very wide between an A321 Neo and a B777-300 Korean Air:

Arrival at the door with 1h30 delay.
Visual on the A321 Neo parked next door

Disembarkation from the lower deck, and cordial farewell to our charming crew of the day

The priority of the landing will be respected by the Korean Air teams of the lower bridge.
View of 2 of our 4 engines of the day:

Then, last view on our device of the day
Great experience on this B747-8:

Message brings to the attention of the French.
Very nice attention:

Let's go to the exit :

The terminal is very nice and bright:

B777-200 KLM Asia :

Passport control will pass very quickly.
I will have to prove that I have correspondence with the reception agent, who is quite surprised by my correspondence
Lugagge are advertised to arrive quickly:

Very interesting this panel for luggage visibly lost:

My suitcase will arrive soon enough.
Then, direction the exit of the terminal.

Today's FIDS :

We are not changed of Paris:

Direction, the departures floor to take the shuttle bus to Terminal 1.
The terminal is very beautiful, as this work of art shows:

I’ll wait 15 minutes for the bus.
I have 1h20 before the scheduled departure of my flight to Taiwan

Thank you for reading this report
See you soon for the rest of the trip

There's nothing quite like flying in the upper deck of a 747! It's just a really special experience and KE's 748i upper deck looks particularly nice with the spacious APEX Suites seat model, which sadly not to many airlines have since they're too spacious and take up too much floor space. Catering does indeed look very good.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this report on KE’s B748.
The Apex suite on the narrow upper deck is a phenomenal product considering they have 10 less seats than what LH crams up there. With the side bins on the upper deck, definitely the best option in KE’s fleet.
I had the same experience last time through ICN T2, even with the new terminal, the shortage of gates remains a problem for the airport. A remote stand would have been faster^^
Thanks for the report on KE! Always been fascinated by them an have not had a chance to fly with them yet, especially on the 747!
