Hello everyone,

happy to see you again for a new trip.
This time, destination Taiwan and the island of Okinawa.

The opportunity to try new companies, and new aircraft.

The routing will be as follows:

I will arrive at CDG 2 hours before the departure of our flight.

Our flight is well marked, physically, divided into 3 check-in areas: Business / Morning Calm / Economy:

A Korean Air representative will be present and will be fluent in Korean.

Security checks will be passed quickly.

I accompany the service, of a Korean film, retracing the history of South Korean marathoners after the Second World War, and their "dazzling" successes:

Everything is excellent, well presented, and obviously very much to the taste of my Korean neighbor.

I would sleep almost 9 hours, punctuated by the different areas of turbulence quite strong.

We will be awakened by the breakfast service offered 3 hours before the landing.
It seems very early!

We then fly over mainland China:

And all of a sudden, we’re gonna come to a stop in the middle of the taxiway.
The cabin manager will announce a 40-minute downtime, because our door is not available.

I will worry even more about my correspondence, as I have to pick up my suitcase and change terminal.

For once, there seems to be a lot of traffic and management difficulties at ICN.

The paper was given to us very late in my opinion, just before the landing in Seoul.

Conclusion

An excellent flight on Korean Air in Business (special mention for the excellent catering in the colors of South Korea)
CDG 2E is a very good airport, but it deserves more fluidity
ICN is a very nice airport, very functional but with a lot of delay on the runways.

  • There's nothing quite like flying in the upper deck of a 747! It's just a really special experience and KE's 748i upper deck looks particularly nice with the spacious APEX Suites seat model, which sadly not to many airlines have since they're too spacious and take up too much floor space. Catering does indeed look very good.

    Full Business Upper Deck

    The Apex suite on the narrow upper deck is a phenomenal product considering they have 10 less seats than what LH crams up there. With the side bins on the upper deck, definitely the best option in KE’s fleet.

    And all of a sudden, we’re gonna come to a stop in the middle of the taxiway. The cabin manager will announce a 40-minute downtime, because our door is not available.

    I had the same experience last time through ICN T2, even with the new terminal, the shortage of gates remains a problem for the airport. A remote stand would have been faster^^
