Self check in and self drop but the BLS was not working well and it was a nightmare. Thanks to the ground staff who help us very nicely

Just a nightmare this kind of BLS. I gave up and went to the see the ground staff

On the way to border control and departure

Duty free and departure area. I saw much better !

Boarding. Plane was fully booked especially due to the start of the war in Iran. Many passengers from Emirates / Qatar / Etihad was there going back to Europ. Again the ground staff was very nice and efficient.

Economy Cabin. As you can mentionned we got the new Eco comfort seats (headrest with sky blue on the side) at the front. 34 inch pitch iso 31 or 30 inches pitch on the others row.

Safran serie Z seats.

Eco Cabin with the 2 first rows in Eco comfort (34 inches pitch)

B787-9. Just 10 A/C in the AF fleet. Still keep them for long ?

Let's go. Take off.

Nice view on the Mount Fuji on the way back after take off. Amazing.

The way back will be to the other side. Meaning across North Pacific Bering Sea Arctic Ocean Greenland Iceland etc.

Main meal course with Champagne Red wine and Miso Soup.

Toilet in Economy

Almost there. I slept almost 11 hours on the 14 of the flight. Very tired with this amazing Japan trip.

Conclusion

Check-in was somewhat complicated due to the self-service kiosks not being fully operational.
The boarding and duty-free areas were rather unremarkable.
The crew, especially the Japanese flight attendants, were excellent.
There was a view of Mount Fuji at departure and the Eiffel Tower upon arrival. In between, there was a light meal and plenty of time to rest.
The Boeing 787 is an outstanding aircraft—it's unfortunate that it is somewhat underappreciated within the Air France fleet.

Definitely, I can be jealous of your Mt Fuji views because I was on the same flight but on the left side of the aircraft and not so far as I was on 21A!

I still need some extra time to issue the English report.

But I can see the bonus of the extra pitch.

I was a bit luckier for the checking process but I wasn’t able to sleep one minute. 😅

And 14 hours… a bit bored, I can be so long ! 🤭

Yes we were lucky on the right side but had to be prompt after the annoucement of the hostess (by the way she was very kind).

Indeed long flight but Japon worth it :-)
