AIRPORT
This was a very early morning to be getting to the airport and it was already packed. I was even able to spot some of the retired Thai A380s that are sitting on the ramp.

The terminal was very busy.

The check-in areas are in the center in line going all the way down the terminal.

Security was up the escalator in the back. The line was pretty fast and there was really no wait.

There was this very cool statue past security. It was time for a long walk to the other side of the terminal.

The 6 minute walk estimate was definitely on the low end. Most of the shops were closed because it was so early.

LOUNGE
We are able to get into the Miracle Business Class Lounge through the capital one credit card and Priority pass. It was super nice to have somewhere to relax before our early morning flight. This lounge was very modern and spacious.

These fresh pastries were really good!

They had a large selection of pre packaged stuff you could take with you.

This was on the second floor. It had a lot of the same food and seating options as the first.

The upstairs section was pretty much the same.

Some quick plane spotting before heading down the jet bridge.

This was our 787-8 that would be taking us to Japan today! Boarding was very efficient ad easy.

CABIN and SEAT
My first impression of the cabin was that it looked kind of retro, but the seats looked very comfortable. We passed through the small business class cabin in the 2-2-2 config. The economy cabin is in a unique 2-4-2. The seat came with a blanket and pillow.

The seat was packed with features. It had a backseat IFE screen with a headphone jack and usb port. It also had a coat hanger in the back of the seat above the tray table. The back of the tray table also comes with a foldable cup holder incase you don't want to take the whole table down. The literature pocket came with 3 different sections. One main pocket and two smaller ones, one which had the nice headphones in them.

The remote for the IFE was in the right side arm rest. it had a wired hole in the arm rest with kind of digs in your arm when you use it for a long time. The whole top also lifts up to give you access to it.

Lots of cool planes to spot taxiing to the runway.

A very cool and smooth takeoff out of BKK!

MEAL SERVICE
They started meal service by handing out a JAL business class wet nap. The menu was not provided so when the crew came around with the cart they would show you the menu. The options were between shrimp curry or pork with egg and rice. The menu even had pictures of the meals which I really liked.

The next thing they came around with were the drinks and a bag of nuts. I got the JAL original drink, It was really good!

This was the full meal tray. I was surprised on how much stuff it came with. Starting from the top left there was some ice cream, soba noodles, some vegetable dish, fruit cup, a cup of miso soup, water bottle, JAL original drink, salad with dressing on the side. and the main dish. The miso soup, ice cream, and soba noodles were pretty good. The pork main dish was very hot and surprisingly delicious!

This was the shrimp curry.

The meals also came with JAL branded metal silverware which was a very nice touch.

In the rear gally they had a small setup with water bottles and some Chex mix bags.

LAVATORY
The rear lavatory was very clean and not to cramped.

They dimed the economy section lights but not the business class section.

The inflight magazine had the Japan Airlines fleet which I really liked.

FINAL SERVICE
Before the final decent they crew came around with chocolate brownies. I was not the biggest fan of them.

What a great view of the wing!

The landing into Tokyo was very smooth.

I keep seeing Finnair A350s everywhere.

A rare JAL 777-300.

Always nice to fly on board Boeing 787 without the crews locking the windows at their darkest setting.
