Welcome to my first trip report. Feel free to leave any comments or feedback.
After flying from Rome, it was time for my connection to Edinburgh. I've had a lot of trips on the KLM Boeing 737s and you can imagine my excitement walking up to the gate to see PH-BXA - the KLM retro jet and my first ever trip on it!

Boarding was on time and the flight was around 98% full. Here's the view from seat 15F; exit row. I was lucky that the other two seats remained empty.

The cabin crew explained the procedure for opening the overwing exits in the event of an emergency and proceeded to give the safety demonstration as we pushed back from the gate and those CFMs came to life. Flightdeck crew advised a flight time of 1 hour 5 minutes and smooth flying conditions for our trip over the North Sea to Edinburgh.
Passing an Air France babybus as we taxi towards the Polderbaan. Nice to see these operating on the new Glasgow - Paris route.

Some views of the Netherlands as we climb away from Runway 36L. Those clouds gave a little turbulence during our departure.

Cabin crew commenced the onboard service as soon as they were released. Crew on any KLM flights I've taken have always been excellent; very helpful and friendly.
KLM has recently changed their menu options on the shorthaul flights and now have a slightly better offering than before. My experience so far is that the early morning flights will have sandwiches usually cheese, chicken or egg. Falafel wraps around lunch time and in between times usually a slice of cake. I like how they offer an extra soft drink with tea or coffee. Wines and spirits are free of charge. Good selection of cold drinks.

Cruising altitude was FL390. View as we are over the North Sea.

Too soon it was time to start our descent for Edinburgh airport. We arrived 5 minutes early after a firm landing on runway 06.

Another picture of Xray Alpha after landing! Was so happy to catch a trip on this aircraft.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed.
A nice report to begin with lots of great photos! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Loukas. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for this FR.
I never got the chance to fly on KL retro jet in spite on many flights with them :-(
Their new catering is really good for a short European flight.
Hi KL651, thanks for the comment. I was beginning to think I would never catch the retro jet either so you can imagine my excitement walking up to the gate. Agreed, the new catering is great on the europe flights.
Great report! Love flying KLM- always a pleasure, so lucky you got the retrojet given its now in the standard colours
