This would be a short trip to KL for the weekend on Malindo Air, with tickets bought on promo fares for a very low SGD$80 return all-in, which is a superb deal for weekend flights on a full-service airline.
Malindo does not offer web check-in for its flights originating from SIN and thus check-in was done at the desks at Terminal 3 with proper boarding pass issued. Quite a number of passengers were observed connecting to the Indian sub-continent.
One of SQ's whales at T3.
Departure from Gate A11. Aircraft had arrived slightly late from KUL.

Cabin and seats were very clean and new on this baby Boeing.
Welcome screen on the IFE, which can be used while on the ground, but earphones to be self-provided.
Leg room is very generous!
Boarding in progress and crew were actively assisting with the boarding process. Flight was totally full.
Qatar A350 parked beside.
Inflight magazines and safety card.
The IFE selection on Malindo is definitely not the most updated. Only TV shows and games were available on this short sector.
Advertising their new B737 Max 8.
All settled and ready to go. However there was some wait for pushback.
QR A350 pushing back.
Followed by our turn, with the safety video played.
A rather long taxi to the other side of the airport to Rwy20C.
Departure from Rwy20C for the short flight to Kuala Lumpur.
Flight map was activated after takeoff.
The night lights of Singapore.
Over Johor.
Seatbelt signs were turned off barely a minute after departure and refreshment service commenced immediately. Crew came down the aisle distributing small muffins, followed by trays with cups of orange juice or water.
Standard Malindo refreshment offering on the SIN-KUL sector.
Stuck to the flight map on this very short sector.
Very soon we were descending into KUL and cabin was prepared for landing.
Approach over Port Dickson.
Landed in KLIA Rwy32R, 13min behind schedule due to the late departure from SIN.
Parked at the main terminal building.
Immigration and customs was fast and painless at KLIA and a 28min KLIA Ekspress train ride later, I was in KL Sentral where my hotel was located. Checked into Hilton Kuala Lumpur, which was also booked at very affordable prices. Room, and especially the bed, was very cozy and comfortable. Not to mention the humongous bathroom!
The hotel has a resort-styled pool, which is shared with Le Meridien.
The next morning, we went to ICC Pudu for a hearty and delicious brunch.
