Transit wait
Had about 2 hrs till to spend. Charging phone, people watching and socialising using free wi-fi.
Departure was through gate 33. Soon it was boarding time.

Cabin service was started soon after an hour or so into flight. I got served first as I had ordered a HMNL. I had made the right decision to have meal at the airport.
Crew was mostly East European. Reckon competitors won't have to worry with such crew on ME3. Skipped passengers during drinks service.

Rice was dry, the chicken was shreds and green pea curry, I didn't like the food.

Disembarkation
After landing, it was time to deboard. I waited for the herd to pass. Vistor passengers were wished Have a good evening and I got wished a pleasant stay in Sydney. LOL. Whatever.
Immigration and Security
Filled my e-passport at the kiosk. Stocked on my alcohol supply. Passed through e-passport and went to baggage collection. Baggage took 15 mins. Picked my bag was soon in the queue for quarantine check, with nothing to declare, got waved off.
Headed for outside for pickup at 8.30 p.m

Conclusion
Abu Dhabi airport has nothing to offer with hardly any facilities for economy customer, toilets were filthy, food is expensive.
Etihad Airways has good hard product, but lacks in customer service, sensitivity to customer profiles . Inflight meal was better than the Abu Dhabi bound flight.
Sydney Airport was not busy, was out quickly.
