WOLRD'S FIVE STAR AIRLINE
This is my flight report on Qatar Airways' 787 Dreamliner service from Doha Hamad to Jakarta. Since this was my first business booking on Qatar, I was extremely excited. Since I missed my connection from the US, the airline accommodated me a day after and rebooked me on the earliest flight possible which was at 9:30am local time. The transit in DOH and boarding process was rather smooth.
Arriving on QR728. Right after, I headed for some breakfast and to my gate.
Upon boarding, I was greeted by warm cabin crew and offered something to drink. I took the Piper-Heidsieck Rose Champagne
Iran Air's new A321 could be seen through 2F's window.
Soon afterwards warm towels and menus were distributed in the Business cabin
and also the amenity kit.
About 15 minutes later we took off from runway 34L and made a right turn towards South East Asia.
The seats were extremely comfortable which made it easy to sleep.
The food service began at cruise. I chose the appetiser "salmon gravlax" however, the catering changed it last minute and we got Haddock instead. Certainly was not a fan. Great presentation though!
As I picked through this meal, I requested my main soon after. I chose the Grilled Beef Fillet. This option was amazing.
Right after finishing the meal, I quickly fell asleep. However, I managed to take a few pictures before sunset rolled in. For a few hours the view below was obscured by haze.
The sunset.

The mood lighting was superb
Finished my flight off with some wine and mimosa.

Just before descent, we were given immigration forms. Ft. my battered passport lol.
At 10:00pm, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta was extremely busy. Managed to take a shot after I got away from the crowd.
Since I had a connecting flight, I took the airport shuttle to Terminal 3. This terminal is by far, superior in appearance to that of Terminal 1 and 2. Garuda operates their domestic and international flights from this terminal.
Thanks for viewing!
Thanks for this report !
The Hard product looks very nice and the seat has plenty of space !
Did you get your breakfast at the lounge ? and if yes was it nice ?
what were your impressions on the service ? :)
catering seems good but not very exceptional ...
Do you have some king of a bar or is it just some drinks at your disposal in the galleys in this plane ?
Thanks again !
Hey, actually I did not visit the lounge in DOH. The service, in general, was really good. However, one cabin crew member seemed a bit stern. Dining choices were limited. There was no bar in the galley, everything was mixed to order. You're welcome.
Hi JAZ -- thanks for sharing this great report.
I really like this seat and setup on the Dreamliner -- I prefer the "in place" monitor to the swing-out option some other/older seats of this type feature. Qatar also does a really nice job with the cabin in terms of atmosphere and other touches.
The catering looks pretty good for what it was -- was there a second meal offered? Seems like there should have been for a flight of more than eight hours!
Curious what you thought of the new terminal in CGK? I was through there a couple of months ago, and was SHOCKED by how empty it felt on both my transits through it, especially in light of the mayhem that is the rest of CGK. Very nice terminal, though. That reminds me that I've got some good flight-reporting yet to get done. Hmmmmmmmm.
Thanks again for sharing!
Hey, thanks for your response. Yes, the in-place monitor was easier to use than the swing out one. I used the swing out one on the CX business class. The new terminal at CGK, in my opinion, is so much better than Terminal 1 and 2. Most of the flights in Terminal 3 are only Garuda and its Skyteam partners and after being among locals, I realize most of them prefer to fly on the low-cost airlines like Lion Group and the Nam Group. Garuda is seen as a prestigious airline and more expensive. That could be a reason why the other two Terminals, especially Terminal 1 would seem busier than Terminal 3.
