Welcome back to another trip report!
Though short, this report highlights my flight from Chicago, down to Miami. With the first Miami Carnival in 2 years occurring back in October 2021, I was sure to make sure I was in attendance.
Chicago - Miami had many options in respect to airlines flying the route but United's MAX9 caught my attention. It was the first opportunity I had to fly on the MAX since 2017 and on the -9 variant.
I got to O'Hare roughly around 5AM, just incase TSA lines were long. It was evident that travel was picking back up as the airport was packed.

UA 739 to LAX.

UA 753 to SFO.

Aircraft: Boeing 737 MAX 9
Registration: N37508
Age: 3.3 Years
Layout: C20Y159
Having arrived from DEN the night before, our MAX9 rested at C21 until departure to sunny Miami.

UAL2645 to SFO.

These MAX9s have yet to be retrofitted with UA's new cabin however, legroom was pretty descent.

Pushback during the early departure bank.

UA's 737 in the new livery looks sleek.

ET 788 just arrived from ADD via DUB.

Line up on RWY 10.

Resting heavies at O'Hare's Terminal 5.

Climb out of Chicago was overcast till we got over Georgia.

A full cabin heading to MIA.

Clear skies just after flying over Savannah, GA.

Descent began soon after over Port Canaveral.

Nasa down below.

Final descent took us over Midtown before flying over the swamplands.

Turning Base on final approach.

TAP A339, UA M78 with the AVIATE decals on the nose.

Emirate's recently started DXB-MIA with daily 77Ws, complimenting TK & QRs service out of Miami.

Hey JAZ350,
thanks for this interesting trip report and especially the beautiful aerial shots. It looks like UA offer a good domestic Economy product with decent legroom. Good to hear that the MAX seems to be an improvement in terms of noise and the general paxex. UA's new(er) livery looks good indeed, nothing that can be said about all new(ish) liveries; still I noticed that we've gotten so used to long 737s that even a 737-700 starts to look stubby (never mind the -500s and -100s, if you can still find one).
Anyhow, thanks again for the flight report!
I had no idea they had a carnival in Miami! Well, that’s no surprise considering the great tourist destination it is. Silly me. Haha. Is it like the Rio carnival? With dancing competitions and things like that?
Ye-esss. Those Max planes have caught everyone’s attention lately. Haha. Glad to know you made it in one piece to MIA!
Now that’s good news!
The dinosaur skeleton is wearing a mask! It looks O’Hare-raising! (Badum-tss)
I’m happy to know you fled from the cold for some days and enjoyed yourself in Miami.
MIA is one of the destinations I can reach with a direct flight from my local SCL. Who knows. Maybe one day.
Oh, BTW, beautiful aerials. Those are my favorite part.
Thanks for sharing, Jaz350!!
Hi JAZ350, thanks for sharing and nice to see your reports again!
UA MAX 9's are pretty nice and will be even nicer once they get upgraded with seatback PTVs like the new MAX 8s. Was this aircraft's Streaming IFE system not working, or you just didn't check it out? The only reason I noticed was the low IFE grade you gave since I thought these all had personal device streaming IFE.
Thanks for sharing!
