Lot Polish Airlines in Israel:
Current to 2018 the airline operates 21 weekly flights from TLV to Poland. Flights to Warsaw are operating by Boeing 737-800 and Embraer E195 during the winter season. LOT'S destinations from Tel Aviv: - Warsaw (2 daily flights) - Poznan (1 weekly flight) - Rzeszow (1 weekly flight) - Wroclaw (2 weekly flights) - Gdansk (1 weekly flight) - Lublin (2 weekly flights)
From July 2018 all the flights will be operated by Boeing 738 MAX.
Day of the Flight:
I had to stay in Wroclaw till Monday but some bad events in my family forced me to change my flight as fast as I can. There weren't flights from Wroclaw to Tel Aviv on sunday and I've started to search direct flights from another cities nearby Wroclaw with direct flights to Israel like Prague, Katowice, Poznan, Krakow, Gdansk Warsaw and even Berlin. The flights were pretty expensive as it was only day before except Wizz Air flight from Katowice (142$ on sunday, A321) and Gdansk with LOT (77$ on sunday, B738). Without and thoughts I ordered the flight from Gdansk with choosing a seat for free . The flights seemed to be pretty full. I arrived from Wroclaw to Gdansk by saturday night on a train and the journey took around 5 hours and 40 minutes without wifi or power outlet. Usually I could order a Ryanair flight for around 42$ but I hadn't think abouth it at the same moment.
After eating dinner at Hard Rock Cafe at the city center with a temperature of -14 celsius and snow I've reached Gdansk Airport about 0:30AM while the flight depart time should be 5:35AM. I know that it's pretty long time but it's better than waiting at the city without a hotel resveration. This is the view of the new terminal of Gdansk Airport:
My flight is the first to depart today with many other flights at the early morning hours. Wizz Air and Ryanair have the most flight to the airport:
This is the check-in area view:
Duty free area, it's pretty nice for a medium size airport like GDN:
Boarding will start soon from the non-schengen area which is the old terminal. Don't worry and old and the new terminals are connected:
KLM Embarer E-175 will depart soon to Amsterdam (AMS), Netherlands:
Wizz Air A320 will depart to Dortmund (DTM), Germany and the A321 will depart to Malmo (MMX), Sweden. You can also see my plane to Tel Aviv:
Ryanair Boeing 737-800 will depart to Eilat - Ovda (VDA), Israel:
LOT vs Ryanair for 4 hours flight to TLV, which airline will you choose?
Inside the old terminal:
Boarding was on time and the plane parked close to the terminal. As a result I could take some nice photos:
Getting close to the plane:
It's so cold outside, around minus 15 celsius degrees!!!!
Wizzair's A321 is being prepared for his first journey today:
I love it:
Cabin durning boarding:
View from my seat, 25A:
Pitch is good:
Cabin after boarding, the plane was 85% full and nobody was sitting at the middle seat of my row:
Taxi was started on time:
It's snowy outside the airport:
Take off was on 5:48AM, 13 minutes late:
Bye bye Poland! 2 days, 2 cities and 600 km by train:
First light of the day:
Now it's sunny:
Over south Poland:
I've slept for 1:30 hours. The service was like on TLV-WRO's sector: Mineral water and a snack with option to buy on board. Nothing special.
Cabin over Romania:

View of TLV airport:
Landing on runway 30, 32 minutes earlier than the scheldued time:
jetbridge for today:
Bye bye my 738!!
Flight details, the airborn time was 3 hours and 30 minutes:
Gdańsk - GDN
Tel Aviv - TLV
I enjoyed from this flight with LOT. The flight was very cheap, comfty and landed 30 minutes early!. I don't need a full meal on 3:30 hours flight. The time of the depart is pretty early and I was tired after the flight. GDN Airport is nice with a big duty free shop and food court which is open from 3:30AM. However the line for the security check was long and it was so cold to go from the terminal to the plane. As a star alliance member, I've earned miles for this flight. I will fly LOT again.
