SHORT HOP TO THE BIG APPLE!
Welcome to leg 3 of 3 of my trip from CGK-JFK. There was a 1-hour stopover at Vancouver Airport which just consisted of remaining in a seating area by the gate and picking up passengers traveling to New York.
Our bird, B-KPV was cleaned and refueled for the 4:21-minute flight to the USA. Cathay Pacific changed cabin crew on the leg continuing to JFK.
Nose gear cam at the gate.
Warm nuts and fresh orange juice.
Taxi & Takeoff from YVR with Vancouver in the distance.
Menu for this flight.
My choice of meal before falling asleep in these comfortable seats.
As I am used to 4-hour flights, we quickly made it to the Update NY area relatively quickly and the sun began to peep above the horizon.
The sunlight showed the beautiful cloud patterns and we meandered our way into the metropolitan city.
29 minutes to go
Sun brightens the cabin.
Descent and approach into JFK.
Final for runway 4R.
Taxi to terminal 8 took about 15 minutes. JFK was relatively quiet at 7am. Here is my seat 16A before disembarking this magnificent aircraft. I was sad such an experience came to an end. Did not enjoy the jetlag, though.
Interesting trip report. Did you clear US passport control in Vancouver because most other carriers do that?
No we didn’t clear US control at YVR as my flight originated from Hong Kong. Customs clearance was done at JFK however.
Great report. While I have flown cross-country many times, I've not ever taken a red-eye flight from the west to east coast, but it certainly would go fast I'm sure on a nice flight like this.
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks! Redeye on trans-con flights go by really quickly, you'll take a nap and just like that its over. Other than this redeye flight, I'd recommend Jetblue Mint... the service is impeccable!
