Boarding had commenced when I reached the gate. All carry on bags were hand checked by Thai staff before heading to waiting area. LAG's were removed.

A Swiss couple were being difficult, the man was unwilling to open his bag. I heard him being told if you don't get the bag checked, you won't be able to board the flight.

I wasn't carrying anything was a quick process for me. Bag was checked and all items neatly placed.

Passport and boarding pass was checked by Thai Airways staff and then by a Australian Border Officer.

I met an acquaintance in the waiting area, the family had been to a wedding in Phuket and transitting through Bangkok.

Soon it was boarding time, I was sitting in the rear section. Proceeded to board the flight.

Filled the questions and received my ticket. Headed for the E-gate to scan and insert ticket. It was a quick short process.

Baggage Collection, Quarantine and Exit

While waiting for the bag was asked few questions by the Border officer. Answered what I was asked and she moved on to someone else.

I wasn't carrying any declarable items, exited without delay. Went out to car parking to exit the airport.

Conclusion

Thai Airways flight was the cheapest option I had during the time of the year. Service was good, food was adequate, time was convenient. Bangkok Airport is fine to transfer is transit time is short. The internet is hard to connect and there aren't many options to spend time. The duty free shops are pricey for the product on sale. I didn't exit the airport, can't compare the cost of living in Thailand.

Exit from Sydney Airport was quick as I used self check kiosk.

Very nice trip report. Lovely photos. Glad to see Thai's inflight service remains a cut above. I hope you like my Lahore-Bangkok report from last year ! The internet's first for this Thai service.
