Hi & Welcome to my first report on my FLASHBACK SERIES. In this series of flights, I would share reports from flights that I've flown before registering this website. Just a quick reminder that I am the same human being with "turkishflyer1" on flyertalk so the reports posted can be the same as posted there.
My first report in the flashback series would be a short domestic flight to Izmir from 2012 with Turkish Airlines A340 aircraft. I wasn't lucky to fly the TK A343 on longhaul but I had the chance to experience this aircraft on this 1h flight.
Regular up to date reports would be continued to be shared shortly after the flight date.

Boarding passes for my previous IST-ADB flights
ONLINE CHECK-IN
I was able to check-in for my return flight as well, as I had a same day return. The mobile boarding card technology wasn't applicable for TK at that time.

Entering IST
TK offers a direct lounge entry for domestic Business Class & Star Gold passengers. At that time I had a LH SEN status so I was eligible for the lounge. In addition, passengers have the option to drop their car to the valet park agents in front of the lounge.
Check-in
Check-in was quickly done at the entrance of the lounge as there was no checked luggage and all I need was my boarding pass and my lounge card. At that time a separate lounge card was issued for passengers.

As it was a day trip for me, the boarding pass of my return flight was also handed.
TURKISH AIRLINES LOUNGE ISTANBUL DOMESTIC
As my travel companion holder a TK Elite Plus status, I headed to the Elite Plus & Business Class section of the lounge. The lounge was renovated in 2012 so it would be my first time at this lounge.
Security is cleared when entering the lounge
This lounge isn't similar to the international one and there wasn't many selections.

FIDS - The gates on the display screens doesn't apply for passengers in the lounge. There is a special lounge gate for eligible customers and the gate is announced by voice announcements.
Boarding:
Boarding was made from gate 3 today, the boarding area is visible on the photo
TK handles a special bus from the lounge to the aircraft which had seats for everyone.
Onur Air was celebrating it's 20th year.
MH 772 at the apron - MH used to fly to IST
TC-JDN, which was named after the city of Adana, was our aircraft today, which is now used for Umrah flights.
The aircraft arrived from Guangzhou this morning and now it's his turn to fly to Izmir.
TK 2312 - ISTANBUL-IST to IZMIR
Seat:
The seat was comfortable but the legroom wasn't that good.

There was PTV's onboard this aircraft but TK doesn't open the system on domestic flights

The aircraft that would operate my evening return flight is now getting ready for his flight to Baku
AtlasGlobal didn't exist at that time, they were called AtlasJet

This time a 8Q A320 which would operate 8Q 222 to AYT
TC-JSD which was newly delivered at that time would also fly to AYT
TC-JGN would operate the daily morning OSL flight
Another TK A343, TC-JDJ to Ankara
The safety video froze so the crew restarted it
The front camera was opened on all IFE screens for takeoff
We have departed 30 minutes after our scheduled departure time.
Meal:
Shortly after the seatbelt signs turned off, meal was served.
The picnic basket contained, a white cheese sandwich, a strawberry yoghurt and some olives,tomatos and cucumber. By the way, apple juice is not anymore served on domestic flights.

We had arrived to gate 226 in ADB which is the only widebody gate in the International Terminal. A quick note that the new domestic terminal was under construction so all flights were operated from the International Terminal
