All of the meals were excellent and an improvement in catering over the years on United Airlines.

Lavatory
Typical 787 lavatory design.
On my previous flight, there was Cowshed branded lotion and other amenities in the lavatory. This time it was empty.

Conclusion

I have flown United between Singapore and USA for almost 20 years now, and this (not so new) non-stop flight is an improvement both in terms of travel time and onboard service. The catering is also better now, however, the mid-flight snack (not pictured-- a small sandwich and kit kat bar) could be improved. The self-serve drinks in the galley during the flight was limited to just mineral water on UA 2 while on UA1 there was a wider selection.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your first report here with us! I am pleasantly surprised to see such decent catering on United. It's nice to see the improvements at UA aren't just in the premium cabins.

    Welcome to the site!

    Thanks for this review.
The catering is clearly improved tcompared to transatlantic flights and it should be, given the duration of SIN-SFO.
UA's catering usually tastes good so it seems it tasted excellent on your flight.
I suppose no amenities such as eyemasks were available ?

Thanks for the comment I will be posting UA 1 review sometime soon hopefully, which I believe I have more photos of.
No eye masks, tooth brushes etc were offered by the crew or placed in the lavatory. On the UA 1 flight, it seemed like the cabin crew placed the buisness class amentities (lotions and mosterizouers etc)

No eye masks, tooth brushes etc were offered by the crew or placed in the lavatory. On the UA 1 flight, it seemed like the cabin crew placed the business class amentities like lotion in the Y lavatories. This seems to have occured on other flights before too judging by other reviews.
The UA 1 flight food was not bad but not as good as UA2. It seemed like UA1's food was frozen because it was vacumn sealed while UA2 was prepared fresh out of Changi Airport by SATS as it was foil.
