FLYING KLM DURING THE PANDEMIC
First flight with KLM since March 2020. Flying ATH-AMS-EDI today on the Boeing 737-800, PH-BCG a newer 737 with Boeing Sky Interior.

Boarding on schedule with Zone 1 and 2 first; pretty full flight considering current global circumstances. Excited to be boarding my first KLM flight since March this year.
View as we taxi to the runway…

Ready to depart, 20 minutes behind schedule.

Takeoff….

Stunning views flying over the Aegean Sea heading towards Amsterdam.

Cabin service was limited (as expected) with only one drinks service through the cabin and a small cheese sandwich was served with a cookie and some water. Drinks were not available in the galley when I asked for a coffee later in the flight - a little disappointing on a 3hr 15min flight with COVID being cited as a reason why. Seems each airline policy is significantly different.

View from the back with the BSI. Again, a rather full flight.
USB ports at each seat, no wifi however unlike the outbound flight with AF on a much older A321. I can't see wifi being added to KLM 737s anytime soon.

Descending for Amsterdam.

Another KLM 747 stripped of its crown as I prepare to take my 747th flight (to EDI on a 737)…

As an added bonus, this was our Captain today.
Considering that Lufthansa is only serving bottles of water on those type of flights, I think that KL is definitely one of the fewer carriers that are trying to stick to their catering service as much as possible.
Thanks for this FR.
Catering is better than AF on this flight, but on a 3hour leg they should definitely make a 2nd drink round.
Just flew KLM as well this week end and the 2 crews were different with health issues, one recommending to avoid moving from our seat and refrain from standing in the galleys while the other did not say anything. Both were 50 minute flights.
Good review! Hopefully things begin to return to normal beginning of next year!
Hopefully mate!
