KLM Amsterdam to narita on the famous ph-bfc
Going through some old pictures saved on my hard drive, I came across this flight on the KLM 747 Combi to Narita on the famous PH-BFC. More information here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KLM_Flight_867
Memory of events may be limited as this was back in 2014.
As per usual routine, I arrived in Amsterdam with KLM from Glasgow with a few hours to spare in the (old) Crown Lounge at Schiphol.

Here's our PH-BFC 'City of Calgary' prior to boarding at the gate. Typical foggy weather in Amsterdam.

Chosen seat for the day: 10A in the small Economy Comfort zone.

Taxi to the runway…

Climbing out of Schiphol. Nice wing view from Row 10.

After departure drinks followed by the meal service. Chicken or pasta if I recall correctly.
Full row to myself too!

After a few hours, the sun began to set as we were flying over Russia

IFE and moving map. I don't think the KLM 747s ever received in-seat power.

Snacks and drinks were available in the galley as other passengers tried to sleep.
Soon enough, the sun began to rise and breakfast was served. Scrambled Eggs, Hash Brown and some Tomatoes with fresh fruit and some cake.

Flying over the mountains as we approach Tokyo…

Thanks for sharing this very old FR. :)
A very comfortable flight aboard the Jumbo jet with an entire row for yourself.
Very surprised to see Chicken or Pasta on this flight when nowadays, airlines give better quality meals. Perhaps that was because it transited via the USA before reaching his final destination. But back the flight date, it was a direct flight from Amsterdam to Tokyo so maybe it was a remnant part of it.
Have safe flights despite the pandemic still here. ;)
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed.
Thanks for the lovely archive! Really nice to see this b747 of KLM i miss it!
Thanks Chris, I miss them too. May have some other flights in the archive - will have a look :)
The Beautiful Queen; how I miss her! I'm glad I've gotten to fly the 747 often with BA and AF, but never got to fly KLMs, sadly.
Thanks for this nice trip down memory lane!
Ah I never got to fly one with AF sadly Kevin. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the pictures.
