Report No: 2022-610
Dear folks,
Welcome to this brand new US domestic series which I would cover 2 different airlines and 6 segments which was a pretty eventful trip as I had multiple interruptions during the trip as my schedule changed more than multiple times.
The sixth and last part of the series would be onboard the American Airlines 737-800 from Dallas Fort Worth to Washington Reagan in the Main Cabin Extra cabin. On this trip, I hoped to visit the AMEX Centurion Lounge at DFW but due to the long wait, I would be covering the AA Flagship Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth Terminal D one more time in this series.
The routing for this trip would be revealed part by part

DALLAS FORT WORTH AIRPORT - DFW
After arriving at Dallas Fort Worth at Terminal C after disembarking my previous flight from Austin, I decided to take the Skylink to Terminal D where all the better lounges at the airport are located.

As I was a bit tired that day, I didn't walk but took the Skylink which the ride took about 5 minutes from Terminal C to Terminal D.

My first choice was to go visit the AMEX Centurion Lounge located at Terminal D.

However, there was a queue due to the lounge being at capacity and that wouldn't move unless someone leaves the lounge.

That's why, I walked near gate D22 where the American Airlines Flagship Lounge is located.
I also thought about going to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Terminal E for a change which I have access through my AMEX Platinum Card, however, I didn't want to waste another 10 minutes going there which would reduce my lunch and rest time.

AMERICAN AIRLINES FLAGSHIP LOUNGE - DFW
After taking the elevator to level 5, I was welcomed by the lounge staff at the door and was offered a glass of champagne.
Then, I have looked for a seat but since the lounge was pretty crowded, I was only able to find a pair of empty seats at the rear section of the lounge.

So, the lounge has a champagne and wine bar the main buffet

A self-service coffee, tea, fountain drink, spirits & digestives bar

As well as a buffet which had similar offerings compared to my visit the previous day.
There is also a small coffee and snack corner at the other side of the lounge but it is not photographed in this report.

Since no proper meal would be served on my flight to Washington Reagan, I had my own three course dinner.

The lounge has a great variety of food compared to a US lounge, however, desserts are limited to mini cakes.

For the remainder of the time, I have worked on my laptop.
Also in the picture below, the business corner of the lounge could be seen.

GATE AREA & BOARDING
Since my flight was departing from Terminal A, Gate A8 I have used the Skylink to go to Terminal A rather than walking which would have taken 10-15 minutes.

The Skylink ride was smooth and took about 5 minutes.

I have no idea where gate A1 to A7 is located but after disembarking the Skylink I have followed the signs to my gate A8.

Which eventually ended to be the gate at the end of the concourse with no gate A1 to A7.

N834NN was there waiting for us to board at that time. It would have been my first time on this specific airframe.

Another shot of N834NN, this time from a wider angle

Despite the chaotic boarding process at Austin that morning, boarding for this flight was very smooth, on time and with the respect of group numbers with friendly gate agents.

I have boarded with Group 2 and while making my way to the aircraft, I took the fuselage shot below.

AA 2907 DALLAS FORT WORTH AIRPORT TO WASHINGTON REAGAN AIRPORT
After being welcomed by the crew, I have headed to my seat 17A which was located at the second overwing emergency exit row of the aircraft.

In my opinion, row 17 is the best row to sit on an American 737-800 in the Main Cabin and despite booking this flight about 2 days before departure, I was able to get this seat.
By the way, the seat was equipped with a USB port located next to the phone/tablet holder and a power outlet under the seat.

Boarding was completed on time and then the cabin crew started their takeoff preparations.

Shortly later we started pushing back

At that time, this Frontier A320neo heading to San Francisco became visible. Despite both DFW and SFO not being Frontier hubs, it looks like they are flying this route to compete with United and American.

This time, it's an American A321 operating as AA2337 to Columbus, OH after a delay more than an hour

Some private jets

One of the LAA A319's, N3014R, was passing by, which was going to operate a very short flight to San Antonio that afternoon.
Since today ( the time this report was written ), I have flown the American A319 18 times and on all of those occasions it was a pmUS A319 and trying the LAA A319 is also on my bucket list before they are refurbished.

And after a taxi of 5-10 minutes, we were on our way to Washington Reagan National Airport

Photos after takeoff

At that time, it was the moment to look what is being offered at the Personal Device Entertainment system.
Wi-Fi, complimentary entertainment, complimentary live TV and complimentary Apple Music

Here were the Wi-Fi options for this flight

The entertainment menu

Movies

TV shows

Live TV options and websites that are accessible with no internet purchase requirement

For most of the flight, I have slept and skipped the service which consisted a cup of drink and pretzels/biscoff cookies and woke up just before we were going to land at DCA.

Shortly afterwards, we indeed did land at Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport

Concourse D which used to be Terminal C in the past

This American A319 was the aircraft that has landed just after us

N818UW parked at gate C33

This American Eagle E-175 was getting ready at gate C31 for it's flight to New York JFK.

Another American Airlines A319 parked at C29 which was going to operate AA2148 to Boston and it was significantly delayed ( over 2 hours ) that evening

And we were going to park at Terminal 2, Concourse D next to this Boeing 737-800

Shortly after we have parked the seatbelt signs have been switched off and the doors were shortly opened.
Then passengers started to deplane the aircraft.

WASHINGTON REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT - DCA
After disembarking, I have found myself into the very crowded Concourse D

Where then I proceeded towards the exit

A last photo of N834NN before I left the airport.

And, shortly later I have left the report and the journey has come to an end.
Thanks for reading this report, I hope you enjoyed it. I wish to see you all in another Flight-Report.
Still better than Lufthansa's business class apple in a cardboard container haha
In this case, other people's ignorance is bliss XD
Wow! It looks like they thought of everything!
Yeah, sleeping is the only thing I would skip a cookie for as well
I did! As is usual with your complete and informative reports.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Pilpintu and thanks for stopping by,
- Hahahahaha, yes, I remember Lufthansa's good old days when they served a pudding with peach or berry crumbles at their lounge
- I assume that most non-status people are not paying those very high exit row seat fares which could be high as $110 for a 3 hour flight just for a couple of extra inches of legroom.
- Yes, since American removed screens from their narrow-body aircraft except for the LAA A319's and the A321T's, they invested a lot in the personal device entertainment system.
- Hahahahaha, yes, indeed; especially after the meal at the Flagship Lounge.
- You're most welcome :)
