INTRO
Needed a cost effective to get from Cambodia to Bangkok to catch our SQ redemptions and Thai AirAsia worked out to be the cheapest option out of Siem Reap. For background, we booked the bare bones fare with just baggage
CHECKin and ground experience
Just note that there is no public transport from Siem Reap to the airport. We took a tuk-tuk, taxi is another possible option.

Check in experience was pretty efficient with Air Asia in this case. It wouldn't let us do online check in, but there were lots of counters available and even managed to get a window seat.

Airport experience
The airport design was quite nice on the inside with designs mimicking the architecture of the temples. We saw a SQ 737 Max on the ground at the same time. There is a Plaza Premium lounge here, but this one is not part of the Priority pass ecosystem.

Aircraft
Aircraft for the day is an Airbus A320 in the Amazing Thailand livery. Very colourful on the outside.

Cool boarding experience, as the gates are outdoor ones which have to be walked to.

SEAT
Here are some pictures of the seat. It is pretty tight for leg room begin a high density aircraft.

It is possible to purchase these red seats during the booking process if you want more room.

Some interesting art work on the overhead bins to go with the Amazing Thailand livery.

in FLIGHT SERVICE
This was probably the low point of the flight. The crew were quite snappy and rude. For some reason Thai AirAsia mandates turning phones off during take off and landing and they were quite strict with this. It is fine up to a point. However, my partner had forgotten to wear her seat belt (prior to landing), but they didn't even realise that, but were instead telling her to turn her phone off. So, the warning is: Dont turn your phone on during take off/landing on this flight.
There was a big variety available on the inflight menu, but we didn't actually buy anything, so cant comment on this part.
