First flight of my round THE WORLD trip
After celebrating a milestone birthday a few days earlier (no numbers), I decided to trade in some saved airmiles and do a round the world trip.
Starting off first with British Airways from Glasgow to Heathrow. Prior to departure, I was offered to upgrade to Club Europe for £75, why not?
Spend some time in the BA Lounge and headed to the gate for what looked like a pretty full flight as usually is on the BA Shuttle.
Today, G-EUUD would be doing the honours of BA1477, callsign Shuttle 7 Tango. A 21 year old A320.
Boarding commenced on time and we were also sent an email advising of possible ATC delays.

Seat 5F today.

Departure was only delayed by around 30 minutes. Captain advised of a flight time of 59 minutes and smooth skies down to Heathrow.
View from seat 5F.

German Airways E190 operating on behalf of my favourite KLM.

Seems Glasgow had an unexpected issue with the taxiway which required emergency repairs, we entered via RWY 05 and back tracked to takeoff from RWY 23.

Powering into the skies above Glasgow, well Paisley.

Climbing through the Scottish clouds to a cruise altitude of FL350 which we reached just above the Lake District.

Service on board was really disappointing on this flight, crew were extremely slow. Granted a short flight but the two crew just appeared to lack speed and efficiency, I was tempted to ask if they wanted some help. Meal orders were taken individually and despite being in Row 5, breakfast and the only beverage wasn’t served until descent had started. I have seen it much better co-ordinated in the past.
On a positive, it tasted much better than the picture suggests. I did feel the need to rush it down for landing though.

At least the views over London didn’t disappoint.

I meant to add, G-EUUD has wifi.

On approach to Heathrow.

Views taxiing to the stand where we had to park up and wait on a gate becoming available.

Flying on one of these next….

Thank you for this report.
The meal is quite good for a domestic short haul.
I hope you're enjoying your time around the world, looking forward to see where the next flight takes you.

I'm laughing as I'm seeing this review of a pretty standard BA Club Europe experience having flown a few days after the NATS outage. 4 days later, BA were still filling middle seats in Club and I had the distinct displeasure of having my family's seats assignments all split apart and being shoved into a middle seat. It's just funny how that empty middle seat makes all the difference in making it a good or a lousy experience. Catering looks good on your flight considering it's so short.
