Second flight of my RTW trip - back to skyteam
Second flight of my RTW trip would be on Virgin Atlantic, flight VS7 to Los Angeles.
Operated today by their beautiful A350-1000, G-VTEA, only 3 years old.

I arrived at T3 quite early hoping my SkyTeam Platinum would allow me to try out Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, sadly not, Aspire lounge it was.
Boarding commenced on time and the flight didn’t look overly full.

My seat for today, 52K and managed to get the full row to myself!

Pillows, blankets and headphones were already at each seat.
Doors were closed on time and cabin crew welcomed us on board “Rosie Lee”. Flight crew consisted of Captain and two FOs who advised a flight time of 10 hours and 25 mins with good flying conditions, taking off from the west at Heathrow, flying over south Wales, Dublin towards Greenland, Hudson Bay, North Dakota and Las Vegas.
Views heading towards RW27R.

Followed by a rolling takeoff into the skies above London. Really love a tail camera!

Soon after takeoff, cabin crew handed out some BBQ corn snacks and a drinks service.

Followed shortly by the meal service (and some more wine). I opted for the indian chicken curry (forget the other option). Tasted pretty good and the crew even offered a second portion.

Paid for the onboard wifi and tracked ourselves crossing the busy Atlantic. Loaded some music playlists on the IFE. There were a decent selection of movies however none that really interested me. Cabin lights were then dimmed.

Treated to some stunning views while crossing Greenland!

Midway through the flight, a hot cheese toastie was also served. Snacks and drinks were available in the galleys too.

Our flight passed by uneventfully and too soon it was time for the pre-landing afternoon tea.

Scene from above Nevada as we got closer to LAX.

Cabin was secured for landing as we got closer to LA!

Pretty smooth touchdown too. Thanks to this delayed Delta A339, we had to wait around 45 minutes to get into our gate though followed by almost two hours in the Customs and Immigration line. By this time, I was glad to head straight to the hotel and sleep.

Great report as always!
Wow a whole row to yourself in Y on a TATL flight in August, that's unheard of! Lucky you. Beautiful aircraft and a nice looking cabin. Catering looks good, though the pre-arrival meal in a box feels a bit cheap for an 11 hour flight.
Great views of the Rockies. Flying over the Western US on a clear day is always a treat from the window seat.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Kévin, yeah was pretty lucky. The cabin behind the wing was pretty full though, I’m sure VS sell these forward seats separately but was able to select for free - presumably due to my FB Platinum.
