Welcome to the second leg of our trip to Peru. We just arrived early from Washington, DC and have plenty of time until our midnight flight to Lima. We arrived in Concourse B and made our way to Concourse F, where this report begins.

SkyClub. No wait this evening

The SkyDeck was open and the weather was great. We spent most of the night here.

Evening departures.

Good spread of food. The BBQ Pork is always great. However, if I were paying for a Business Class ticket, I would have been disappointed as I would expect more.

The SkyClub closed at 11:00 PM. Boarding was supposed to start at 11:05 so we made our way to gate F1, at the very end of the concourse.

Our aircraft tonight, an Airbus A350 from the LATAM fleet that was quickly turned into a Delta bird. No changes to the seating arrangements were done, Delta decided to keep the LATAM Business Class seats, didn’t add real Premium Economy seats, and instead added Comfort+.

We were informed that the flight would be delayed as there was a crew member missing and the replacement was coming from JFK.

The ground staff decided to allow us to board and wait for the replacement crew inside the plane. Boarding started at 11:35 PM

Esteban Moment

Comfort+ Seats, 3-3-3 configuration

A comfy pillow and a blanket were placed in the seat, as well as a travel kit

Seat pitch, really good for a long flight.

IFE screen, very decent size

1:10 AM, safety video and pushback

Tonight’s route

Quick taxi and takeoff

Reviving memories with The Office

Shortly after takeoff, a water bottle was distributed as well as cutlery.

Mushroom ravioli, delicious. However, the dessert was very poor.

After dinner, went to sleep and woke up south of Panamá, as breakfast service was about to begin.

Today’s boxed breakfast consisted of an egg and cheese English muffin and a fruit salad. The muffin was really bad and the fruits were not very fresh. I would have preferred the simple breakfast served in Europe-bound flights.

Beautiful sunrise

View of the Comfort+ and Economy cabin.

Descent and landing with a quick taxi to Gate 19.

arrival
Arrived at 7:20 am, almost 2 hours late. The crew asked those staying in Lima or not connecting within the next 2 hours to stay seated while those with short connections deplaned. I was surprised with the compliance.

Finally deplaned and made our way to Immigration.

One last view of our plane

Long way to immigration

Took us about 30 minutes to clear immigration. Luggage was already being delivered.

On our way to customs and baggage re-check

Used LATAM’s Premium line to drop our luggage. As we had family members joining us later, we scheduled a long layover in Lima, so went to the city for a nice brunch at Larcomar.

Thank you for reading. Flight to Cusco coming up.
Interesting to see a review on one of Delta's ex-LATAM A350s! I guess if you're flying in Y it's not really a big difference from the DL A350s, but it is a huge difference from Delta One Suites to LATAM's old 2-2-2 seating. And also, as you mentioned, no Premium Select cabin.
Speaking of Premium Economy. Delta's marketing of Comfort+ vs Premium Select is really confusing and weird--uniquely so in the industry. Prior to introducing real Premium Economy, they marketed Comfort+ as Premium Economy, filing actual Premium Economy fares on Comfort+ (whereas AA and UA don't file special fares for Main Cabin Extra and EconomyPlus--they're just buy-ups from regular Y). But since the introduction of Premium Select cabins, Delta stopped selling Comfort+ as Premium Economy on widebodies (and 757s flying long-haul), and are not only selling it as premium economy on domestic flights. Yes I work in the industry so i'm exceedingly familiar with this haha...that being said, I don't think Comfort+ should be categorised as Premium Economy on Int'l widebody flights since it's not sold as Premium Economy, while it IS ok to categorise C+ as Premium Economy on Domestic flights where it IS actually sold as Premium Economy...Yeah, Delta's made a mess of the whole Premium Economy thing on their own by over-promising in the past with Comfort+.
As far as the catering, I commend Delta for doing something different than the others with a less traditional presentation without the tray and what seems to be higher quality food, but the portions seem small.
