Hello everyone, welcome to the second part of the trip which covers the return flight from Tunis back to Munich with Tunisair.
Flight routing
- 1
- 2Tunis TUN -> Munich MUC
Twenty four hours before departure, I performed the online check-in through the web. I selected 22F for my seat, because our flight was heading north in the afternoon, and I could avoid the direct sunlight on this side.

On the day of flight, we travelled to the airport with a local car and we arrived at 12:00pm, about three hours prior to the schedule departure time.

We went through a security check at the entrance of the airport. Once we stepped into the terminal, we found that check-in counter for our flight was at 59-60.

It took a whole before we could manage to find the Tunisair check-in counters. They are located at one corner area which is not easy to identify. By the time we reached there, flight to Munich was not ready for check-in yet. We waited in front of counter 59 for about 10 minutes and then we were able to check-in. It seemed each counter was allocated for a specific flight.

The departure hall of Tunis Carthage Airport.

After we finished the check-in procedures, we went to a fast food restaurant in the departure hall.

We spent about 40mins there, then we decided to go through the immigration and security check because we saw a lot of passengers in the hall. It took about 20 minutes and we were done. Then we checked around at the duty-free shop, it was kind of funny that the shop accepted Euros but not the Tunisian Dinars.

Immediately, we located a FIDS and it showed that the gate for our flight was 59.

and then we headed directly to gate 59. The airport is not really big and it has only nine airbridge. The waiting room was quite big with very few passengers.

The main airport building.

Tunisair A320neo, TS-IMX was preparing its flight to Nice as TU998 at 15:00.

Our plane to Munich parked at the remote stand. TS-IMA, an Airbus A320neo, delivered to Tunisair in December 2022. On the right side of our plane, parked a AlMarisa Universal Airlines A320.

Nouvelair A320-200, TS-INR was departing to Brussel as BJ396. Nouvelair is also a Tunisia airline with its base in Tunis.

Another Nouvelair A320-200, TS-INF was preparing its flight to Milan as BJ634. The flight was delayed for around two hours.

Oman Air A330-300, A4O-DI arriving from Doha as QR1399. The aircraft was leased and operated by Qatar Airways, due to the surface degradation issues of the A350.

Emirates B777-300ER to Dubai as EK748.

Tunisair Airbus A320neo, TS-IMB, arriving from Frankfurt as TU745. This was the plane that brought me from Munich five days ago.

The paper boarding pass. The boarding gate marked on it was gate 47…

As the boarding time approached, we heard an announcement and everyone was suddenly leaving the waiting room. We sensed that there might be a change of the gate. We found a FIDS but to our surprise, our flight was missing…. so we following the rest of the people to the gate 48. This gate was literally handling our flight, for real….

Boarding eventually started at 14:50. The shuttle bus took us to the plane and we all boarded from the front left door.

Took another picture before embarking the plane.

My seat 22F. Today I got the black seat.

There were USB ports below the seat in front of me.

Back of the seat in economy class.

Seat pocket items included a shopping magazine, safety card, and a seasick bag. There were two ladies sitting next to me.

When I unfolded the table, I was shocked by how dirty the seat was in front of me. There were stains everywhere, and some chewing gum left over…

Apart from the seatbelt sign, there is also a sign for no electronics.

At 15:25pm, an announcement was made informing us that there was a delay due to clearance. We waited for 15 minutes and finally we pushback at15:48pm. Safety demonstration was performed by the crew in person as there were no monitors.

Entering the runway.

At 15:52pm, we took off from runway 01.

Second after takeoff, with an overview of the city.

Passing through the coastline of Tunisia.

Not long after that, we got through the hazy sky.

After leaving Tunisia, we were flying over Tyrrhenian Sea until we reached the mainland of Italy.

Winglet of Tunisair A320neo.

At 16:05pm, I received my lunch. I finished only the bread and the chicken and egg. The filthy seat back was really affecting my appetite.

I opted for an orange juice as the complementary drink.

At 16:32pm, I took the chance to visit the lavatory at the back side of the aircraft. The plane was not really full, there were a lot of empty seats at the last few rows.

The hygiene was alright, which was acceptable for me.

Afterwards, I asked the crew at the aft galley if I could have a Tunisair magazine. She took one from the seat pocket at the last few rows and passed it to me. The name of the magazine is La Gazelle.

Back to my seat, I could already see the land and that meant we had already reached Italy.

I tried to connect the Wi-Fi again, and this time it worked. It was really confusing, because there were two Wi-Fi available, one was ''Cabin-Wifi'' and the other was ''TAR007'', during my last flight, I tried to connect the ''Cabin-Wifi'' but it was not working, this time I tried to connect the ''TAR007'' and it worked….very strange…To my surprise there were quite a lot of movies to choose from, besides there were also some TV shows and music, even some games.

There was also a flight map in the system.

As we continued to head north, there were more and more cloud below and I could not see anymore the landscape below.

Some snow mountains. As we flew over Innsbruck at 18:15pm, the captain announced that we had begun our descend into Munich.

We flew through the Munich city.

East of Munich, Speichersee Ismaning.

At 18:36pm, we landed on Munich Airport. Total flight time was one hour and forty five minutes.
