After arriving from Tokyo Narita Airport, we went through another security check and back to the departure hall. There are two terminals in Seoul Incheon Airport. Korean Air and members of SkyTeam Alliance utilize the T2 terminal, whereas Asiana, members of Star Alliance and Oneworld Alliance utilize the T1 terminal.

Firstly, we went to a food court and got ourselves some Korean food. Apparently, the meal on the last flight was not enough for us.

Then we also visited the Book Cafe.

As the boarding time approached, we returned to the gate 19 at which we were departing. Most of the passengers were waiting in front of the gate.

Our ride to Hong Kong. By the time I booked the ticket, this flight was planned to be operated by A330-300 and months before the flight it was switched to B777-200ER. As of November 2024, Asiana Airlines has 9 B777-200ER. HL7755 would take use to Hong Kong tonight. It was delivered to Asiana Airlines in June 2007, so around 17 years old.

The boarding started on time at 18:51pm.

My seat 28A. It was still equipped with the old seat and was like travelling back in 20 years ago. That being said, the seat was indeed much comfortable than those thin and hard one we have in most airlines today. A pillow was already placed on the seat in advance.

Seatmap by aeroLOPE. There are 24 seats in business class and 278 seats in economy class. Seats in economy are in 3-3-3 configuration.

Cabin during boarding.

The arm rest with remote control. It is rare to see this kind of sturdy metal armrest nowadays.

The PTV was not touch screen, so we must use the remote control attached to the armrest.

The out-dated 8 inches little screen with very low resolution.

View out of the window.

At 19:26pm, our captain announced that the flight time would be 3 hours and 20 minutes. 25 degrees Celsius and raining in Hong Kong. About 3 minutes later safety demonstration video was played and the cabin was dimmed. At the end the aisle seat was occupied by a Korean woman.

The main menu of the entertainment system.

The movie menu.

so I ended up with the movie, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. However, I wasn't enjoying the film due to the low resolution and small screen.

Finally pushback was commenced at 19:51pm.

Passing through T2 terminal where I could see a lot of Korean Air planes.

At 20:19pm we took off from runway 16L.

Roughly 40 minutes into flight, dinner was served and there were 2 options, beef or chicken. I chose beef with a red wine. This time, metal cutlery was provided.

After the dinner, the cabin lights at the center of the aircraft were turned off.

At 22:00, I visited the lavatory behind our seats.

This time there wasn't any coffee powder, but only a facial and hand lotion.

By the time I finished the movie, we were getting close to Taiwan.

I knew that I did not have enough time to finish the second movie, but nevertheless I started watching this famous Korean movie in 2024, Exhuma.

At 23:00pm, the last announcement from the flight deck that the preparation for landing had started.

Entering Hong Kong from the east.

At 22:35pm, we touched down on the new runway in Hong Kong International Airport. The total flight time was 3 hours and 16 minutes.

The map did not update with the latest terrain of the airport.

It was raining quite heavy in Hong Kong. Eventually we parked at gate 32 in terminal 1.

Total flight route. Our plane headed south after departure, and entered East China Sea, passing through Taipei and then finally descending into Hong Kong.

Thanks for reading!
Wow! A blast from the past! I'm shocked that OZ still puts these on almost 13-hour flights to Rome! I'm pretty sure these planes will be phased out following the KE merger.
