Introduction
This trip report is from Dec 2024. I had arrived on Alliance Airlines VA1235 Brisbane to Rockhampton.
Pre-departure
I had checked for the flight along with the others online.

Boarding pass was not updated as I upgraded.

Check-in
I received an email that I was upgraded, decided to collect the boarding pass from check-in. Check was not opened.

Flight schedule

I sat on the seat in front of the check-in.

Check-in for the flight opened at 11.20am.

I did not have a check-in bag. I entered the check-in area, there was no queue. I showed my drivers license and the QR code from the previous check-in.

Ground staff printed boarding passes all the way to Sydney.

Security
As I had nothing else to do, I entered the security check. Hand bag was x-rayed and full body scan was conducted where everyone has to rotate in clockwise direction.
Security check took 1 min.
Waiting area
Entered the waiting area and sat there waiting for boarding. Waiting area was empty with few passengers. There was a cafe and gift shop.

Aircraft information
I was tracking the incoming aircraft.

VA1240 would be operated by Alliance Airlines Fokker 70 VH-NKQ, which was 28yrs and 6mnths old.

Aircraft had departed on time

Aircraft arrived at 12.10pm.

Boarding
As its a short flight, I used the toilet before boarding. When I came out, passengers had queued.

I joined the queue as boarding was announced.

Boarding opened at 12.30pm

Flight schedule was updated.

Passengers requiring additional time were called first.

Boarding pass was scanned.

Process was quick and was outside the terminal. Passengers followed the marked path towards aircraft. Fokker 70 has integrated stairs. which makes boarding and disembarkation quicker.

Flight was full to Brisbane.

As all passengers had boarded. Seat belt sign was switched on.

Ground staff disembarked and cabin door was closed.

Seat in 2-3 configuration.

Taxi
Crew conducted safety demonstration as the engines were spooled. There was no pushback as aircraft turned towards taxiway its own power.

There was no hold as the aircraft lined on runway 33-15.

Takeoff was quick followed by turn South

Attaining cruise altitude.

Cabin entertainment for this aircraft is looking out of window or using personal device for entertainment. I chose the former.

Curtis Island near Gladstone.

It was warm and I opened the air vent. Advantage of having personal vent. Seat belt sign was on.

Cabin was clean as seen from the carpet.

Brisbane receives heavy rain from Dec to Feb causing flooding. Getting cloudy as aircraft got closer to Brisbane.

Cabin service
Crew conducted drinks service, which was tea, coffee or water. I asked for tea with milk and a sugar.

Increasing cloud, Cabin crew cleared the rubbish.

Pilot informed descend would be commencing.

Aircraft passed the international terminal to land on runway 01R-19L.
