Just a short report. For the first time in forever I boarded Malindo Air. A brand new low-cost carrier based in Malaysia. Seen as competitor of AirAsia, the Worlds Best Low-Cost Carrier, they sharing the same home.
Even titled as low-costed, but the fare seems more expensive than Malaysia Airline. I booked the flight at MYR288, while Malaysia Airline offered MYR210. Somehow, I want to try something new. Bye MH.
A little bit info about Malindo Air. Malindo Air provides a personal TV (in-flight entertainment system) in every seat, light snacks and free meal, seat pitches of 32 and 45 for economy class and business class respectively, and free baggage allowances of 20 kg & 30 kg.
Furthermore, Wi-Fi service will be available from June 2013 onwards. The combination of the amenities, services and low cost fares puts Malindo Air in the category of hybrid airline.
The IFE is based on Panasonic eXLite with 9 inch touchscreens in Economy class and 11.1 inch touchscreens in Business Class, capable of gestures (swiping, scrolling). Full meals are served in Business class.
According to Malindo Air, a total of 50,000 passengers had flown with the airline as of 9 May 2013. The airline also has expanded on a parallel turboprop service, focusing mainly on secondary routes within a 2-hour radius from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. Pioneer destinations include Penang, Johor Bahru and Kota Bharu, the flights have commenced in early June 2013.
They also provides regional flights to Jakarta,Denpasar-Bali,Bangkok,Chittagong,Dhaka,Ahmedabad,Tiruchirappali,Delhi,Kochi,Mumbai and Batam.
Malindo Air now living in their new home, the KLIA2-The World's Biggest Low-Cost Carrier Terminal.
My boarding pass.
Notice there in the seat pocket, the free snack. Cream crackers and mineral water.
Touchdown smoothly at Kota Kinabalu.
Kuala Lumpur - KUL
Kota Kinabalu - BKI
For me, it is ordinary. Flying to this destination now seems more fun with variety airlines. I have to say that, flying with Malaysia Airline is the best. While Malindo Air is better than AirAsia for this sector.
