Since I did not have any checked luggage, I printed out my boarding passes all the way to Munich with one of the machine. Then I headed immediately to the security check and immigration.

I visited two shops selling Cathay Pacific Airways's products. The first one I visited was Journey & Read, located at gate B7, just next to my departing gate. Then I continued and arrived at another one at gate C1 called TAOLI Select. The shop was very big with a great variety of goods.

At the end, I brought two keychains with 80th anniversary livery. Then I went to a coffee shop called L.E.A.F. CAFE to kill time.

As the boarding time approached, I left the cafe and headed to gate B5.

The waiting area was already full of passengers.

My plane to Hong Kong. B-LBE delivered to Cathay Pacific Airways in June 2014. Between end of 2016 to 2020, it was transferred to Cathay's subsidiary Cathay Dragon.

At 10:18am, boarding was started. I was at group 6 of the boarding sequence.

My seat 39A. This is the first row bulkhead seat of the economy class. This plane is configured 24J 293M and economy class is still equipped with Safran Weber 5751 seats in 2-4-2 configuration. I have been flying with this type for several times. The main feature is the separate front economy class section from seat row 39 to 42.

Monitors are mounted on the partition wall.

Seat pocket items were placed in the front pocket below.

While we were waiting for pushback, I start watching the Anaconda movie.

Remote control is available for better control.
At 10:38 boarding was completed and our captain announced that the flight time would be 1 hour and 25 minutes. A lady was sitting next to me.

At 10:44am, safety demonstration video was played.
At the same time, the jet bridge was retracted.

Pushback was initiated at 10:46am. Parked next to us was another Cathay's B777-300, B-HNQ with the new bigger text Logo. The plane would operate the flight to Osaka Kansai Airport as CX564. This is the non ER version of the B777, Cathay operates 14 of the type for regional destinations.

Weather was not very nice.

It kept raining all the time.

At 11:05am, we took off in the rain from runway 05R.

Within a minute, we reached the Taiwan coastline and then we were turning 180 degree and headed southwest.

Flying over the clouds throughout the entire cruising.

10 minutes after takeoff, the seatbelt sign was turned off. At 11:25am, lunch was served. Rice with chicken was the only choice. Together on the tray, there was a bottle of water. Metal cutlery was still available.

At 11:45am, I went to the lavatory behind the row 42.

The lavatory was clean.

Not long after I came back from lavatory, the captain came into PA and announced that we were 30 minutes to landing. I could see some outlying islands from Hong Kong.

The Hebe Haven in Sai Kung area.

We were approaching Hong Kong International airport from the west.

Disneyland and seeing these temporary quarantine facilities next to the park reminded me the crazy corona time was already 6 years ago… time flies.

At 12:33pm, we landed on runway 25L. Total flight time was 1 hour 28 minutes.

Reached our parking gate 2. It took me just 15 minutes from getting off the plane to catch the bus to the city. I was going to spend a few hours in Hong Kong before coming back to the airport for the evening flight back to Munich.
