INTRODUCTION
Hello FlightReporters
On the 13rd July I went to Rome to sign the final papers to buy a house
I decided to get a flat and put it on-rent while living in northern Italy in a house rented by my company
For a lucky coincidence, my uncle turned 60 on the 10th July, meaning I could also attend the party
I got the confirmation from the sellers in the last week of June
Therefore I proceeded immediately to book the flight
Being the party in the Francavilla, the town where we've our house-by-the-sea, the first plan was to land in Pescara-PSR and fly back from Rome-FCO
However, the schedules were not suitable for my needs
I ended up booking these flights
The total amount of 197 euros was lowered thanks to a discount by ITA
Final price was 170 euros

ROUTING

ITA Airways - Rome Fiumicino FCO > Milan Linate LIN - Airbus A320neo

Some stats:

Overall great-circle distance flown in 2026 (as of the reported flight): 10.480 km|5.659 nm
13rd time on LIN-FCO route
THE FLIGHT
Even on this flight I was assigned a central seat

The morning of the flight I signed the final papers to become officially a home own
Definitely very exciting, I was very happy and spent some time celebrating it with my family
With the flight scheduled for 20, my parents agreed to bring me at FCO around 19
We left home before 18:30 and twenty-five minutes after we arrived at Rome Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci" Airport

The Terminal was pretty busy as usual

The flight was reported to be 45 minutes delayed
Pretty an issue, considering once landed I was supposed to reach my friends' house for a mate's birthday
Considering my rush once in Milan, I decided to skip the bag drop
I tried to change the seat, but the lady told me the plane was packed

Making my way to the filter

The inspection area was nearly-empty
I was also redirected to a lane without queue, clearing the security in 0 minutes

Strolling around terminal 1 departure lounge (full as usual)

Some spotting was necessary to pass the time

ITA Airways A220 taxing away

KLM A321neo

Ryanair and WizzAir birds lined-up at pier A61-83

The stand is so close to the walkway leading to the pier

Alitalia cemetery

The view of this Triple-7 was pretty sad…

…as for this A330

A Kuwait Airways A330neo sitting in the engine testing area

TAP E-Jet, airBaltic A220 and Iberia A320neo docked at pier A31-52

Pier A1-10 was undergoing a deep renovation
Apparently they kept the structure while rebuilding the facades

As the boarding time of my flight approached, I made my way to the gate

At 19:58, two minutes before the original departure time, my plane pulled in from Linate
ITA Airways Airbus A320neo EI-HOE
First flight on 14st September 2023 (2.8 years old at the moment of the flight)
Delivered to ITA Airways the same month
Equipped with 180 seats in C-Y mixed configuration, it's dedicated to cross-country skier Manuela Di Centa

Boarding started pretty lazily half a hour later
My group was allowed onboard ten minutes after

As told before the plane was full
This was my only window seat

At 21:04, more than one hour on delay, doors were closed
The gate was left moments after

Taking off behind an Air Serbia A320

At 21:17 the plane began its take-off run on runway 25

Sun was setting

The flight was pretty event-less, I got my sandwich while the crew delivered the drinks
27 minutes into the flight the cabin was set for landing

At 22:05, fifty-five minutes on delay, we touched down at Milano-Linate Airport

Blocking at the finger a couple of minutes after

Disembark was pretty fast
The plane was supposed to fly to Catania-CTA

After getting off the terminal I went straight to the parking and took my car
I arrived home in San Pellegrino minutes before midnight
Thank you for the attention!
I liked your review, especially the magical green cabin lighting effect just before take off. Do you have photos of the inflight service ? I was sad to see the Alitalia graveyard :(
Thanx! The lighting on the A320neos is pretty good
No pictures, actually they just deliver a drink
So sad to see old glories of AZ
