We flew to Athens last year on Aegean. I didn't expect anything great for a short-haul flight (approximately 3 hours) but Aegean surpassed my expectations.
We went to BCN Airport three hours before by car, we had already printed our boarding passes at home so we had to do a short line at the Baggage Drop off counter.

After dropping our bags and clearing security controls we already had one hour to wander around the airport. BCN Airport's T1 is very modern and clean, there's something I don't like which is that passengers arriving go through the same exact area than passengers departing. However, the airport is beautifully designed allowing a lot of natural light into the building.

Delta A330-300 to Atlanta at Barcelona.

Alitalia A321 to Rome-Fiumicino at Barcelona.

We headed to the gate to board the aircraft, the boarding process was run very smoothly and we boarded the aircraft quite quickly.

The flight was supposed to leave at 11:50, and by 11:40 boarding had been completed. We taxied to the runway and took off perfectly on time. I took a nice picture of the Airport after the aircraft banked towards the sea once it had took off.

Here is a photo of the cabin, the legroom was decent for being an A320. I guess flying on flag carrier airlines still has got to have some advantages!

We flew over Corsica and managed to take this nice shot.

Crew served some drinks, no food. Service was pretty good.

After approximately 2h 30min we started our descend into Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. The flight was pleasant without turbulence nor any other problem. A little before landing, I took this picture, yet to discover what that exactly is!

We landed on time and went to the baggage claim area.

It was a long walk and I managed to take some nice pictures of some Aegean airplanes.

Swiss A320 and Aegean A320 at Athens.

We then got to the baggage claim area.

Once we had our bags ready, we asked for the spot where the X95 stops and waited for the bus to come. The bus was going to leave us in Syntagma Square which was within walking distance from our hotel.

From the bus, I took this picture of Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. It looked beautiful from outside.

Thanks for sharing this report with us. I love the air view from BCN airport ! a great pic !
BCN new terminal is very confortable and gives great opportunities for spotting and i like it's design.
Agean seems to be the best option for flights to Greece and much better than Olympic was (is?)
The cabin looks nice and clean
The only regret is that there is no meal service ( not even a sandwich ) at this time of day.
Nice report with great pics. Only missing pics of the service (drinks/snack). A3 seems like a decent airline. Thanks for sharing
