After the adventures of my last flights, I left you in the Alaska Airlines Boardroom, where this report continues now.

This is the lounge:

The offer is pretty good, there is cheese, salads, vegetables, muffins, starbucks coffee, free booze (although limited to three drinks, but the ladies were not really counting that night ^^)

This is terminal C from Anchorage airport, a nice and friendly airport. I had time to visit it during my long layover :)

A bit of spotting with a 737-400 Combi, a bird that you don't see in Europe:

After a long, very long very wait, we head to our boarding gate to catch our 737-400 to Fairbanks. As an AvGeek, this was a good news for me as this was the only type of the AS flight I have not flown.

The cabin is looking nice and seems well maintained and the seats were comfy. The legroom was genereous : (+PSU)

My mom was kind enough to hold the Safety Card and the BOB menu (that was impressive!):

On time take off and some inflight pictures. As it is full moon and the floor is snow covered, there is lots of lights outside:

We were fortunate enough to see a little (very little) aurora, but I was unable to take it in picture.

A small service is performed on that 40 minutes hop (water / OJ and … red wine ^^)

On time landing in FAI, and the question we all had in mind was, will our bags be there? And yes, they were, they arrived with the earlier flight!

Very bad handling of the delay in SEA that brought us on that flight but at least, we were in FAI, and I was able to catch the 737-400.

Thanks for the report. Looks like a pretty ordinary US domestic flight on a 737. I never knew 737-Combis existed, thanks for enlightening me!

Hey! There's a pic of the 75th anniversary plane that I took DCA-LAX, cool! I loved those colors so much, Julien got me the 1:200 model for Xmas :-)

I haven't been on a 737-400 since Icelandair used to operate them before 2002. I think US Airways still has some in their fleet, but I could be wrong. For a second there I was confused when I saw the painted nails, LOL!

    Hi there,

Yes the armest was really attached to the exit door. Must say it looks strange, but at least there is an armrest. Sometimes you did not have one at emergency exits and it is not comfortable without.

As far as I know there are only two 737 versions available as Combis: the -200 and the -400. The -300 is available as Quick Change.

The 75th anniversary plane colors are really nice indeed, I was so sorry I could not do the picture better. Julien had an excellent idea to treat you with that model for Christmas!!

US Airways operated their last 734 flight on August last year :

Only Vision Airlines and Alaska still use them in the US. This website is pretty cool if you want to check fleets:
