3rd flight on Turkish Airlines 1st flight on A330-300 1st time in South Africa
My horrible connection in Istanbul As my flight to Cape Town via Jo'burg was a connection flight I needed to make a transfer and pass security again in IST after my flight from Tel Aviv. As I landed on delay from Tel Aviv (Delay time was 1 hour and half) and most of the long-haul connection flight departs only 1 hour after, I though that I missed my flight and everyone on the plane was under pressure because most of us had connection flights to all over the world. After leaving gate 205, where the plane from Tel Aviv (A330-200) was parked a worker behalf of TK have been waiting for us and he started to read the connection flight by his bad English. After that he took all passengers from Tel Aviv to the security areas and let us go. We were about 6 passengers from the flight from Tel Aviv that continued to South Africa. The gate for flight TK40 was 214 - more than 5 minutes to walk. It's not terrible when you have a long connection but I've statred to run because I was so scared that I'll miss my flight (As I think about it, one day in Istanbul+Hotel+Upgarde for Business Class could be nicer)… Plane reg. were TC-JNH. My ride to South Africa: It was pretty embarassing to see a full plane that was waiting only for me and to see angry passengers that were waiting witout an air condition. Impressive wing: Seat pitch is pretty tight for a long flight: Safety video: Alitalia Airbus A319 and Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-200: The capitan said that flight time will be 8 hours and 30 minutes - shortest than the schedule time of 9 hours and 45 minutes. Cabin before departure: Cabin after take-off: Dinner was served 45 minutes after departure and there was a choice between chicken with rice or pasta with tomato sauce. I chose the pasta which was very tasty for airline meal: Most of the passengers were South Africans, few that looked like Chineses and some Turks It was nice to flight near my home: A bottle of water and a pocket of nuts were given to us by the nicely and friendly cabin crew: I've decided to watch some movie: We have been cursing over the Nile - The longest river in the world. Flight was on a straight line from Istanbul to Johannesburg. I decided to take some sleep after watching half of this boring movie and after the meal. I want to note that I didn't like TK's IFE, United offers better movies and nicely interface than Turkish. We flown near to Lusaka, Zambia when I woked up: A nice view of the clouds over Africa!!!! Breakfast was served 1 hour before landing and was horrible except the salads: More one of the wing: Flaps were down before landing in Johannesburg: On approch to Johannesburg, almost there! It was rainny (at the mid of the summer) when we were landed: Comair (behalf of British Airways) Boeing 737-400: Air Seychelles Airbus A330-200, Mango Boeing 737-800, Malawi Airlines Boeing 737-800 and Kulula with Europecar livery Boeing 737-800: We parked near Airbus A320 of South African Airways: I hope to fly to Seychelles on Air Seychelles one day: Pretty impresive tail: Durning the transit in Johannesburg I needed to stay 1 hour on the plane as I continued to Cape Town. Most of the passengers continued to Cape Town. Conclusion
Turkish Airlines didn't disappointed me on this long-haul flight. The dinner was tasty but the need to replace as fast as they can their businees - There was only one option of omelet that was horrible and there was a lot of ugly sauce on the omelte. The pitch was tight but the IFE was the nice at all and the seat was comfortable. The Cabin crew was friendly and nice and passed on the alises and offerd nuts and water. There was a horrible child that sat behind me and he was shouting durning all the flight in Affrikans - even 285 passengers trying to sleep, It was horrible!!!!! I hate to seat near noisy children!!! The view of the flight were very nice - I enjoyed the flight at all.

Hope you had a memorable time in the Cape. What did you mean by cursing by the Nile? Not to start any arguments about semantics, but the longest river in the world is the Amazon. Just watch the History channel episode that explains all about it.
It would have been interesting to see the pictures of the food without the wrappers and covers. What was the response of the crew to your breakfast observations? Did they offer an alternative? Leftovers from business?

It would have been interesting to see the pictures of the food without the wrappers and covers. What was the response of the crew to your breakfast observations? Did they offer an alternative? Leftovers from business?
