intro
Welcome to a new series of flights, this time to go to Monaco, via Nice. The flights to and from Nice are not that interesting, but the part from Nice to Monaco by helicopter will be more fun to read :)
This is the routing:
Enchainement de vols

empty euroairport
The parking is almost empty, COVID times … but that September, most of the travel restrictions were already lifted.

The FIDS shows very little flights that afternoon:

As we left for a good week, we had bags to check in:

The airport is so empty :(

On the French side, there is almost zero activity:

The check point is even closed:

We went through the middle security check point:

Empty as well. Sad to see that the employee in charge of the first filtering was in a very bad mood with no smile and and very angry attitude towards passengers. Best is to say home in that case!

The Hudson store is also closed, I never saw it like this.

I had two entries left on my Priority pass, we then headed to the lounge.

the lounge
I planned to have a drink or two there with my mother, since she was travelling with me.

But … no. The lounge was closed that part of the afternoon :(

We decided to go close to our gate where we knew, was a little shop.

This was our afternoon tea break :)

Most of the people at the airport where there, since AJA and HAM flights were boarding here.

Those are the two planes:

the flight
Since we had Speedy Boarding, no need to stay in the general queue, and the boarding was quickly launched.

Juliet Mike would bring us to Nice:

MN for DHL to CGN with this beautiful A300:

Our bird:

TK 33F:

Aircraft door:

The crew was friendly and smiling, this is the regular U2 cabin

12F as almost usual, for me:

Slimline, no recline seats in the whole plane:

Very good seat pitch here and the safety card:

Fairly low load today:

85 pax in total.
See you in 9 days!

This 738 is supposed to fly at least 3 round trips a days, with COVID there are days it doesn't fly at all.

Wizz A320:

BH Air A320:

Heading towards the runway:

And take off:

Some views over Alsace:

We decided to have a cappuccino and a brownie, for 5€, perfectly acceptable:

The flight is really smooth:

Lavatory visit:

We will be landing facing west, that is the most scenic approach if you are seated on the right side and we are :)

Sharklet:

Monaco:

Saint Jean Cap Ferrat:

So beautiful!

Since we are pretty low and with the wing, it wasn't possible to take lots of pictures from Nice and the "Promenade des Anglais":

Almost there:

The T1 was (and is still) closed at that time:

Only the T2 is open:

Sad to see this empty :(

We parked next to a sistership:

Cockpit as we ledt the plane:

We arrive 20 minutes early and two minutes after arriving in the hall, our luggages arrived. Really impressed!
