tudo bem
Hello everyone!
Today I found some of my very old pictures of 2016, a period when I was travelling loads but unfortunately a time when I took less pictures.
The idea of this trip was to follow my partner at the time- as he was working from "home". Yes I know, before covid and back then it was the only person I knew that had such freedom.
Azul isn't part of any alliances so I didn't bother claiming miles for this flight.

I was pleasantely surprised by Azul, it was offering flight that were really cheap to reach manaus. I thinkit was cheap because:
A. It was in the middle of the night (3AM)
B. There was a stop a Belo Horizonte, one of the airline's hubs.

The E190 has very much a standard cabin of 96 seats.

at Belo Horizonte - confins - International Airport

I left you on the previous FR at the airport, a bit tired I must say - it was the first time I was flying at 3am and really it isn't a pleasant experience…
There was a lot of airport, clearly Belo Horizonte is a hub, not so much a very turisty destination.

A bit of spotting… Not that much divesity… Luckily this E190 was with the olympic games livery.

I recall the boarding happened in a very messy way to say the least.
onboard the e190
Aircraft: Embraer E190
Registration: PR-AXD
Engines: 2x CFM34
Age: 11 Years
Layout: Y96
Observation: With the fight against breast cancer livery
The cabin is very spacious, the seat re quite confortable - I found the seats that I first experienced on Aerolineas Argentinas: reclining, equipped with IFE and thick leather.

Push back next to a twin plane…

speaking of IFE, here it is..

Followed by the service… A lot of Azul branded unhealthy snacks but still better than nothing!

Time for the flight magazine review.

And an advert for the city I was flying from!

The "new" J cabin seems great!

The destination on the continent.. very impressive.

The approach started onto cloudy amazon…

at manaus - Eduardo Gomes International Airport
The final above the amazonian forest is impressive

Finally arriving at our parking stand

Next to this oldie of A332, I didn't remember Latam had some of these units.

Manaus isn't the most impressive town, but still it has some interesting buildings…

We went directly to a very vvery small village deep in the forest for some nature exploration..

Where I fished my first Piranha!!

Thanks for this FR Chris… but you were on board an E195 ;) Beautiful livery. Cheers, Vince
Thanks Vince I just updated it
Thank you for this report. Nice product and good catch for the Piranha! I wouldn't want to swim there...

And surprisingly the piranha tasted a bit like it was a red meat!!
thanks for the comment!
Thanks for sharing Chris! I like seeing Azul reports (new or old) because it's fun to see that they're pretty much the same exact airline as JetBlue...Both are are great airlines with a better-than-average product with same types of aircraft (except A330s) and similar service, liveries, and even name, haha. It's easy to see both airlines were founded by the same people and both have succeeded and continued to grow.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi mate!
thanks for the comment! I have heard indeed that they were founded by the same guy but never flew with Jetblue before..
Thanks
Chris
