Introduction
This trip report is from Jun 2024. I had a 13hr transit in Ho Chi Minh City.

Pre-departure
My flight booking was as follow:
I had selected the seat at the time of booking.
Prior to departure, I checked online and completed the check-in process.
Agreed to terms and conditions.
Reconfirmed the seat selection.
Check-in completed, boarding time information was available.
Digital boarding pass issued.
Prior to departure, I checked Flightradar24, aircraft was showing Boeing 777
Arriving at Airport
I arrived at airport by public bus which took 45-50 mins from HCMC city. Fare is extremely cheap- VN Dong 15.000
I reached at 5.15pm and went to collect my bag from the locker room.
I had read online information on Domestic terminal. Followed the directions.

Check-in
I had checked online for this flight and had received boarding pass in Mumbai. I had to drop bag and had to go for check-in.

As I was out all day, I went to toilet to change to fresh clothes. Joined the check-in queue. Check-in took 10 mins as few passengers were ahead of me.
I showed my previously issued boarding pass. Ground staff asked for passport and then issued new passes for both flights. My checked bag weighted 15.5kg and was checked all the way to Sydney.

I followed the directions for security check.
Time was 17.54 when I was ready for security check

Security check
I then took a escalator to upper level for security check.
Security check to 10 mins, it was busy. Security check was completed without any issue.
I then entered a corridor and then checked the flight departure gate.
Boarding Gate
Vietnam Airlines VN258 SGN - HAN, departure gate 5. There is a corridor between the boarding area and airside window. Being dark, there was no outside view.
Information was displayed that the flight was delayed by 15 mins.
Food court in front of the gate. I was full from earlier meal, I decided to have something to drink.
Feeling thirst, I had a lychee drink.
Send few mins exploring the terminal.
Boarding
Boarding started at 6.45pm from gate 5. I joined the queue when group was called.
Boarding pass was scanned and was allowed to enter the departure corridor.

Onboard
Reached the entrance of the aircraft, boarding pass checked and was directed to seat. Middle seat was empty. Aisle seat was occupied by a guy from Hong Kong. He asked me where I was from, then he mentioned not getting India visa from China. He has some business contact in Chennai and was running a mobile phone business. After that we didn't converse, he remained glued to the tablet and I wanted to have less talk to get record the content.
Window view, glass was not clear.

Waiting for pushback
Cabin crew made announcement, followed by tourism promotional video was played.
My battery was very low, I charged the phone while waiting for pushback.
Pushback, Taxi and Departure
Pushback started around 7.20pm. Safety demonstration displayed on screen.
As my phone battery was very low, I had used Gopro. After passing in front of the International terminal, aircraft lined on runway 25R-07L. Seated on the portside, I didn't had view of the runway, which was not busy.
Light was switched off for takeoff.
After a short hold, aircraft took off towards West then turned North.

On attaining cruise, Light was turned on.

Cabin Service - Dinner
Cabin service started 30 mins after departure. As I had ordered special meal, I was served first.

Drinks trolley came and I got beer.
After dinner, tray was collected.

Being dark outside, cabin light was on. Time passed, 30mins before arrival, Captain announced descend would commence. Crew conducted the check.
Arriving in Hanoi
Aircraft landed smoothly and then taxied to International terminal.
Disembarkation
Deboarded the aircraft from the front stairs and boarded bus to domestic terminal.
Bus ride took about 15mins.
Hanoi Domestic Terminal
As my bag was checked for both the flight, I walked off the bus and followed the other towards the exit door.
I checked the sign and followed the shuttle bus to T2 sign.
Exited the arrival area.

I went till the Vietjet Arrival terminal and then returned to arrival terminal.
