A warm greeting at KLIA today, as we head on our business class flight towards Bangkok for one of our final legs in this round the world trip.
Expedited business class check-in line as standard with very friendly and helpful staff.
It was quite empty, too! A result.
If you have some time to kill pre-security at Kuala Lumpur International Airport then head out towards the Viewing Area where you'll enjoy pretty much 360 degree views of the apron and runways.
And the views are great!
Included as standard is access to the priority lane for Business and First Class passengers.
As well as access to Malaysia Airlines' Golden Lounge Regional.
The husband was very happy to be flying business class again!
The lounge is extremely spacious and airy. With plenty of seating options dotted around, there's something that fits everyone.
There's also further great views of the apron to be had, too.
There's toilets, a prayer room, a sleeping area, showers, a fully stocked bar, chefs on demand for dishes like laksa and noodles, as well as a help yourself buffet section and cafe.

And cafe too, offering sandwiches and light bites to go as well as a variety of barista coffees, teas, hot and iced chocolates and more.
Our aircraft today is this 12 year old Malaysia Airlines 737-800 which had a pretty epic delivery route from the Boeing factory in Seattle. It flew from Seattle to Honolulu, Pohnpei, Guam and then eventually onto Malaysia over a three day period between the 19th-22nd February 2013.
Boarding was hectic to say the least with full security checks being carried out at the gate, rather than before entering the airport. This massively hampers the operation, slows down passengers getting to the gate and ultimately, ended up with our late boarding of the aircraft.
Here are our seats, 2A and 2C. The cabin is arranged in a 2/2 configuration with just three rows of business class on this particular variant.
A rather large blanket and pillow awaited us on our seats, too. A nice touch as this was a very short flight!
The seats have generous recline and are very comfy. As you can see, there's no complaints on the legroom front, either.
We were offered a choice of non-alcoholic welcome drink. I opted for orange juice whilst the husband opted for pink guava juice. Still and sparkling water was also available on request.
We also received a pre-departure hot towel.
And with that we taxied out to the runway…
…and roared into the sky above KLIA!
A drinks service began and having briefly sampled my husbands pink guava juice earlier during the boarding process, I decided to opt for that. It was truly delicious!
We took advantage of Malaysia Airlines' "Chef on Call" service which allows you to pre-select your meal before departure. My husband went for the chicken nasi lemak, a traditional Malaysian dish served with rice, egg, sambal and a packet of peanuts and fried anchovies. He said it was great!
Meanwhile I went for the paneer curry, served with chickpea daal, roti and basmati rice. It also came with a side of potato salad with smoked salmon and a choice of breads, I opted for garlic bread! Finally, dessert was a slice of pandan cake - a real sweet but satisfying end to the meal.
It seemed we picked a beautiful time to fly, with the sun setting slowly as we crossed towards BKK.

The toilets were absolutely spotless - kudos to Malaysia Airlines for a doubly-clean toilet experience (if you haven't seen my KIX-KUL economy review aboard their A330, then I recommend reading and watching that, too!).
And with that, it was time to descend through the clouds into Bangkok.
We sat in the hold for around 15 minutes, before touching safely down into BKK.
