Hi Hi Helloo! and welcome back to my new flight report! This time, I'll be reporting my  trip to London as I received free flight from UK Embassy Jakarta for another photo competition as a campaign of Visit Great Britain, so I was flying with my cousin and her friend on this trip as they will start school in September.

As usual, because I live in Bandung, I have to travel to the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Tangerang-Jakarta (CGK) for most of the international flights. I went there by a shuttle not so far away from my house. Nowadays, due to the heavy traffic at Jakarta-Cikampek toll road for the construction of elevated toll road, LRT, high speed train, etc. The normal driving time is around four to five hours, and sometimes it can get nastier like around eight to twelve hours for a distance around 160 km / 100 miles!

But at that time, something scarier happened an hour before my shuttle departure time! One of the worst accident happened at the Purbaleunyi Toll Road, more than 10 small car, trucks, and buses involved. It nearly took us 1 hour /km from Km 94 to 91, I am really scared that I will miss my flight due the traffic. Then, after spent more than 4 hours in the crash site, the shuttle driver really done a great driving skill! Right after we reach Km 0 in Cawang area Jakarta he took only 30-ish minute for 34 km drive! What a crazy day, I have been in one of the slowest drive 1 hr/ km and 1 mins/km. LOL. But yeah I manage to arrived at the airport before 10 PM.

WOW! I was thinking to do the web check-in during the traffic, but I  ignore that thought, and you know what that was the worst thing ever. We lined up for almost 40 minutes due long line, slow working ground staffs (yeah they type really slow, put the luggage tag really slow, everything just really slow.), and  I really don't know there was a guy that spent entire 30 minutes in one check-in counter like whyyyy? After the amazingly slow check-in process we went to the  security checkpoint through the Sky Priority Lane IDK why :D and the immigration process quite fast without any problem

Gate 9 and Boarding Pass

photo 20190902_234757

Boarding  strictly called by zones.  So it took a while as I was zone 2, WOW the welcoming cabin mood light was one of the worst, as it was midnight and it just hurt my eyes. lol.

The PTV IFE, seat amenities, overhead panel, and view outside from my window.

Boarding completed, cabin crew started to distribute wet tissue and menu. I chose Bland Meal (BLML) so I actually don't need the menu. It took a while from the door closed, safety video played, and we still stayed at the gate it was really cool that we can actually see what happened through the front facing camera!

We took off  from Runway 25L so we have to taxied all the way from T3 to the other side of the airport near the T1, thats why we can saw some of Lion Air (JT/LNI) Boeing's Max fleet that has been grounded for more than a semester now. Right after we pass the Cargo Terminal, we entered the runway and took off.

Right after took off, I decided to check out the IFE system, to see what it offered. It had a good selection of TV shows, movies, games, and some music. It quite look similar with my previous trip with JAL 787-9 isn't it the same? Before cabin crew prepared for the meal service one cabin crew actually did the cross check ask every pax that may opted for a special meals through mobile apps/ website. As a girl sat next to me went to a lavatory it was the time for me to go to, I can't hold that anymore. I decided to walk around the aircraft a bit to stretch my legs, and change into some more comfortable clothes, in the hope that I could get some sleep. The cabin crew prepared a so called dinner at nearly 2 AM.

About 30 to 45 minutes after takeoff, the first meal service "dinner" started with special meal pax first including me and a girl next to me that chose Fruit Platter that wow the portion was barely enough for me. Believe me even though the food labeled as Bland Meal (BLML) it was one of the best inflight meal service ever! I was shocked.

Cabin light were dimmed after meal service was done. The seat pocket materials, my sleep mode position, remember when we left to sleep, and cabin situation.

The cabin lights were turned on, right before the meal service started.

Nearing UAE, only about two hours before landing the cabin crew commenced the second meal service, "breakfast". Same with the previous meal service this one also really tasty IDK why!

Land at Doha Hamad International Airport, as soon as we reached the gate the plane need to be connected to the the ground equipment and need to be connected with the jet bridge and I'm pretty sure that they have to make sure that the AC work properly? Hahaha yeah It was kinda hot outside even in the morning.

I managed to connect with the Wi-Fi just to tell my family and friends that I'm arrived at Doha already. Then the journey to London continues on the next chapter.

Conclusion

I am beyond surprised because usually QR only operates B787 and long time ago their old A330, started out September 2nd, 2019 a day before my flight QTR/QR introduce the A350 to CGK . I know that they will introduce the A350 before the official announcement when I went to the Qatar Airways office to do a reschedule and it was written there that CGK-DOH will be operated by A350!
