Hi Hi Hello! Welcome back to my new flight report! This time, I'll be reporting the flight back to home after a first trip during pandemics back in 2020. The previous report is here:

So, let's get started and follow me on my first flight to my hometown airport after a while.

sub airport

After arrived from previous flight from UPG we have a lunch first as we still have plenty of time. The boarding lounge pretty much occupied by passengers from other flights.

Wings Air
Aircraft: ATR72-600
Registration: PK-WGR | Msn: 1193 | Age: 6.2  Years (January 2021)
Configuration: Y72
Origin: Juanda International Airport, Surabaya-Sidoarjo (SUB)
Destination: Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung (BDO)
Flight Date: Sunday, 23 August 2020

Seated at the very back of the aircraft on ATR aircraft means you'll disembark first when arrived at the destination, I guess I don't have to censored the face from all of my pandemics FR since everyone cover up their face already,

Pushback, taxi, and take off…

Flying over Surabaya, 2nd largest metropolitan area in Indonesia. As we reached the cruising altitude we bank to the Java Sea and let's rest because it'll  be a long flight with ATR even though its not that far.

Cabin situation on kinda busy shuttle flight with only very few empty seats on this flight. So since at that time still less flight to Bandung (BDO) people need to reach it thru Surabaya (SUB) from eastern part. So all passengers came from all over the places like Bali, Lombok, Kupang, Balikpapan, Makassar like me, and other destination onboard this ATR, so no wonder the flight was nearly full.
The seat view. The stuffs inside seat pocket materials only consist of Invocation Card, Safety Card, and Airsickness Bag (you know in case of turbulences on ATR and any other props I believe always hits differently). Also view outside as we heading back to Java Island.

Kertajati Airport (KJT) on sight and Flying over one of the longest time on toll road construction in Indonesia aka. Cisumdawu Toll Road. It supposedly connect Bandung metropolitan a direct access to Kertajati Airport once it was opened, but it never really happened. Not sure when will be the construction finished.

Finally, after pretty long and boring flight with ATR72 we're  approaching BDO.

As I remember since the early to mid 2019 the Government of Jawa Barat Province and Ministry of Transportation decided to move all Jet flight from BDO to KJT. Hence, BDO serve only with ATR aircraft. Why? Because they want to utilize KJT, but you know it was such a hassle to go there and to land from there. I flew couple of times to KJT and wrote a report on that:
Lion Air JT883 Makassar (UPG) to Kertajati (KJT)
Lion Air JT883 Makassar (UPG) to Kertajati (KJT)
Long time no landing in BDO and it'll be my first time to land in Bandung after a while.

Don't forget if you're seated at the very back of the ATR you're the first one to disembark! Hahaha.
Walk, walk, walk. What I really enjoy for flying from and to BDO. Not really busy apron at that time.
