Introduction

Welcome to another trip report! This is a continuation of my journey that started in Salt Lake city, Utah to Tegucigalpa via DFW & MIA. This trip report will cover the Miami to Tegucigalpa segment. As mentioned in my first segment, AA was having a sale on first class flights from SLC to many Central American countries and one of them being to Tegucigalpa for only $620 USD round trip. After arriving from Dallas/Fort Worth on a Boeing 777-300er in business class, I am now in transit in Miami where I have about 3 hours here. My destination allowed me access to AA's admiral lounges which was a great bonus.
I'm also excited that'll be flying into the infamous (no closed for international flights) Toncontin airport only a few weeks before it's official closure. This airport has been named one of the world's most dangerous airports to land and takeoff from due to its mountainous terrain and short runway. AA used to fly a large B757 into Toncontin however they stopped serving Tegucigalpa in October 2014 and instead were replaced with 2 daily flights from Miami on Airbus A319 aircraft. Join me on the fun ride down to Honduras with me ;).

Comes with a very nice wing & engine view. Currently though they are still loading cargo. The lead FA welcomed us warmly onboard and told us that she'll be taking care of us on this flight.

You can also checkout the entire descent into Tegucigalpa's Toncontin airport in the video below:

In no time we began out steep descent into Tegucigalpa's Toncontin Airport. The city/airport is surrounded by mountains in all sides so we have to come in fast and low. Not to mention the airport's short runway makes it even more challenging for pilots.

Conclusion

Overall this was a fantastic flight on American Airlines in Business class on one of my favorite Airbus aircraft, the A319 also called the 'baby bus' ?. The pursuer on this flight was exceptionally welcoming and very professional throughout this short flight. She was very efficient and made sure she took care of each passenger. Moving on, seat comfort was of course great and nothing to complain there. These recliner style seats offered substantial recline and plentiful legroom despite being a bulkhead seat. Also, the meal was also very substantial for a 2 hour flight as this one and portions were filling.
