Hello everyone! Welcome to the new series of my trip to Asia. This was the third Asia trip I had in 2023. This time I was flying with Qatar Airways with a transit in Doha, and then continued to Hong Kong. This was also my first time to fly with the middle east airline.

The day before departure, I had already check-in online, and received my boarding pass via E-mail.

On the day of flight, I arrived at the airport at 14:10pm, one and half hour to departure. Qatar Airways used Terminal 1 in Munich Airport. From the display, I checked that my flight would depart at gate B15.

However the check-in counters were located in modules A. Once I got there, there was literally no passengers. I guess I was quite late. By that point, I realized that boarding was starting in 20 minutes.

Then I headed back to modules B and luckily there weren't so many people at the security check and immigration counters.

After the immigration, I arrived at B15 gate. The waiting area was full of passengers.

Our ride to Doha, B787-9, A7-BHC, delivered to Qatar Airways in December 2019 but entered into service in November 2020. Currently Qatar Airways has 15 B787-9.

As the boarding time approaching, people started gathering in front of the gate. Several queues were formed and was a bit chaotic. The boarding process was done in zones, and I was in zone 3. After the priority boarding and zone 1 and 2.

Pillows, earphone, blanket and hygiene kits were place on the seat in advance.

Then I started watching the first movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

There was a device holder for your phone or tablet.

The cabin was then illuminated by the mood-lighting.

It was a bit hazy over Europe and I could not see the landscape below.

Soon the sky was getting dark.

At we were passing through south of Budapest in Hungary, the sun was setting.

At 16:54pm, about one hour into the flight, as we were flying over Romania, west of Bucharest, the inflight service began.

30 minutes later, I took the chance to visit the toilet.

Eau de Toilette.

Another 20 minutes later, when we were flying over Türkiye, dinner was served. I opted for the beef choice and an orange juice. Qatar Airways are providing metal cutlery which was pretty good. Overall the meal was quite delicious and the presentation on the tray was so good. Together with the desert and salad, there was also a bottle of water and a bread.

photo dsc03159

While I was having the meal, I finished the movie and immediately I started the second one, Resident Evil: Death Island.

photo dsc03160

An hour later the crew returned and collected our tray, I received a Lotus Biscoff. About 35 minutes later, the cabin light was turned off, leaving the blue lighting in the ceiling of the aircraft.

photo dsc03161

After I finished the second movie, I checked the flight again and we were flying over Iraq.

photo dsc03162

Minutes later, the crew passed by and i got myself a kitKat.

photo dsc03163

At 19:45pm, 15 minutes after I finished the Resident Evil movie, I started the third movie of the flight, Captain Marvel, but I could not finish before landing.

photo dsc03164

As we were flying over Iraq somewhere around Amarah, before entering the Persian Gulf, I saw some of the fire spots on the ground. I guess they were all from the oil refinery.

photo dsc03167

A few minutes later, I also got an orange juice from the crew. The crew were keeping the passengers hydrated during the flight, which was much appreciated.

photo dsc03168

At 19:58pm, the cabin mood lighting was switched on again, and announced that we would descend shortly and expected to land in 45 minutes.

photo dsc03169

I switched to the view which I could see the speed and altitude.

photo dsc03170

We flew through Doha and entering the airport from the south.

photo dsc03171

Thanks for the front camera, I had a very good view during landing. At local time 22:51pm, we landed on runway 34L.

photo dsc03172

We parked at a remote bay on the west of the airport and after disembarking we were taken by a shuttle bus to the terminal.

Thanks for your report and congratulations for reaching our "Silver" status!
A great flight with QR, seems like the service was a bit slow but the tray is well presented.
Crew are usually great and proactive at QR and this flight makes no exception.
The front camera is also much appreciated and pretty rare on the 787.
    Take care.

Hi Leadership, thanks a lot for leaving a comment.
I think it might be a bit slow but still acceptable for me. Qatar Airways is definitely giving me a really good impression.
