After we arrived from Munich, the shuttle bus brought us to concourse C. Then we went to a food court. Afterwards we walked a long way to our departure gate at A8 in concourse A. Before entering the waiting area, there was a counter and our document were checked.

The waiting area was totally crowded and was unable to spot the aircraft. Anyway, A6-BOC, B777-300ER would bring me to Hong Kong tonight. This plane was a former Cathay Pacific plane. Currently, there are 5 ex-Cathay Pacific Airways plane which are leased by Qatar Airways since 2021, A7-BOA, A7-BOB, A7-BOC, A7-BOH and A7-BOI.

At 1:45pm, priority boarding was started. I was in zone two, since I was seating in the rear economy class section. The aircraft is still keeping the original CX interior. It felt like boarding a CX plane to me.

My seat 62A.

Seatmap by aero LOPA. The aircraft is in 4-class configuration. With 6 seats in first class, 53 seats in business class and 253 seats in economy class. The first 5 rows are the original CX premium economy seats.

Pillow, blanket, earphone, hygiene kits and amenity kits were placed already on the seat. The amenity kits included a pair of socks, teeth brush, ear plug, lip balm, and eye mask.

The ORYX ONE infotainment system.

At 2:13am, announcement from the flight deck that our flight duration would be 7 hours and we would be flying at altitude 37000 fleet. 5 minutes later safety demonstration video was played.
Taxing to the runway.

At 2:49am, we took off from runway 34R. There were several Qatar Airways planes taking off ahead of us, which made me understand how Doha airport busy is during the night.

About 10 minutes after takeoff, I continued with the Captain Marvel movie.

Not long after takeoff, we flew over Dubai.

Soon we were leaving the United Arab Emirates into Gulf of Oman from the east coast.

Cabin light was turned on a few minutes after takeoff.

About one hour after takeoff, I received my meal of curry chicken and I opted for a gin tonic as the drink.

40 minutes later, the crew came to collect the tray and the Lotus Biscoff biscuit was given to all of us.

For a moment I realized some light leaking from the window shade so I tried to have a look and the sun was already rising and the sky was getting quite bright.

I quickly checked through the flightmap and we were almost reaching India.

About 20 minutes later, I fell asleep and got woken up by the cabin light so in total I slept for just two hours. We were flying over Kolkata by that time.

Roughly 10 minutes later, at 7:00am, the second meal was served. I opted for the beef option with an orange juice. But I noticed that many passengers skipped the meal. In fact, I was not really hungry, considered the last meal was served just 4 hours ago.

At the same time, I finished the Captain Marvel and then I started the second movie, The Boogeyman.

At 7:55am, I visited the lavatory. At first I was waiting for the one at the front, but there were so many people and after 15 minutes, I decided to shift to those at the back of the plane.

Cabin view of the rear economy class.

The lavatory.

By the time I finished the Boogyman movie, we were flying over Guangxi province in China. About 10 minutes later, another announcement from the flight deck that we were expected to land in 30 minutes, and the temperature in Hong Kong was 24°C.

We entered Hong Kong from the west side and passed through Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge.

At local time 14:46pm, we landed on Hong Kong International airport. Total flight time was 6 hours and 57 minutes.

We reached our final parking position at gate 5 in terminal 1.

The total flight route. After leaving Qatar, we flew through United Arab Emirates, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, China before arriving in Hong Kong.

Thanks for reading!
Thanks again!
Did you try to get seated in the former Premium Economy Cabin?
Impressive service indeed with 2 full meals!
I hope QR would upgrade their airshow on their original 777 as it seems very dated now compared to the flightpath 3D they are using on those former CX 777.
See you.
Hi Leadership. Unfortunately no, I did not try the premium economy seat for this trip.
As far as I can remember, the IFE and the airshow were just renewed by CX some years ago, by the time they introduced the current seats.
Nice to see a QR DOH-HKG report! I haven't got enough time to write my own one from October yet xD
Agree with the meal situation - never have I had so many meals within such a short period of time! Really insane and same as my flight, lots of people skipped the meal
Hi Starvelk, thanks for your comment. I look forward to your report soon.?
