In the evening I had my dinner in town and then I took the airport express to the airport.

Two hours prior to departure, I arrived at the airport. When I checked my luggage, the ground staff asked me if I would like to seat a little bit to the front. This was great for me as long as I could keep my window seat, so I changed from 62A to 42A. Boarding time was also 60 minutes before departure. I went straight through the security check and immigration and walked towards the gate.

We were departing at gate 33 tonight. This flight was also code shared with British Airways as BA2328, Cathay Pacific CX9201, Iberia IB7922, Air Serbia JU8317 and LATAM Airlines LA7419.

Our plane, A7-BOI B777-300ER to Doha, again it was also a former Cathay Pacific Airways plane, B-KPS, it was leased and delivered to Qatar Airways in June 2023. The aircraft carries the ''25 Years of Excellence'' sticker

The boarding pass I just got at the check-in counter.

As the boarding time approach, people started gathering in front of the gate.

At 23:45pm. boarding was started. Boarding process was also conducted in different zone and I was in zone 3. The boarding process was well conducted although the ground staff was kind of frustrated in prompting the passengers to follow one by one. I thought that we would use the automatic boarding gate with facial detection without presenting boarding pass, but it was scanned manually by the staff.

The premium economy class from Cathay Pacific Airways. Qatar Airways is selling them as Economy Class with an additional price.

Here was my seat 42A. The seats were still from the Cathay Pacific Airways. At the end, I had another passenger seating next to me and the aisle seat remained unoccupied.

Pillow, blanket, earphone and protective kit were placed in advance on each seat.

At 0:04am, boarding was completed and followed by the captain announcement that our flight tonight would be 8 hours and 55 minutes. No fancy mood lighting in the cabin.

About 5 minutes later, cabin crew were distributing the amenity kits, which included eye mask, lip balm, ear plug, socks and teeth brush.

At 0:20am, safety demonstration video was played and about 4 minutes later pushback was initiated.
The cabin was then dimmed before we reached the runway for takeoff.

At 0:43am, we took off from runway 07R.

Shortly after takeoff, we then headed south and flew away from Hong Kong into South China Sea. I could have a good view of the heart of the city.

10 minutes after departure, I watched the first movie of the flight, Insidious: The Red Door. However, the contact of the phone jack wasn't good, and I spent quite a lot of time adjusting that.

I tried to connect the Onboard Wi-Fi, from there we could check the menu and to my surprise, there was a great variety of beverage.

At 1:37am, dinner was served, I opted for the Fusilli paste, with Gin tonic as the complementary drink.

About 40 minutes later, the cabin crew came and collected our tray. Lotus Biscoff was then given to us.

A couple of minutes later, the cabin light was turned off and by that moment we were passing through Phonsavan in Laos.

After the I finished the first movie, I slept for about 2 hours and woke up at 4:50am. We were flying over east India, south of Patna.

Then I started to watch the second movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

About 40 minutes later, my neighbor woke up and I took the chance to visit the lavatory. After I came back from toilet, my neighbor moved to the aisle seat and then we had the middle seat empty.

Flying over Bhopal in India.

10 minutes after I came back from toilet, the crew were delivering drink service and I got myself an apple juice.

Somewhere in India.

At 6:50am, the cabin light was turned on. 30 minutes later, breakfast was served and I took the egg with sausage option, with coffee as the drink.

After the breakfast, the cabin light was turned off again. I was getting sleepy and fell asleep right after the movie. We were getting closed to the coast of Oman, east of Muscat.

About 30 minutes later at around 8:40am, I was woken up by the announcement that we had started our descend into Doha Hamad International Airport. Cabin light was then turned on again for the crew to prepare for landing.
