Here is the second part of my ICN-BKK journey via Hanoi where I am now in transit !

After immigration and security checks I go to the lounge which is on the top level of the terminal.

As soon as I arrive I request to use the showers. There is a vey simple shower room, no where to sit, not very luxurious…

The Business Center

There is a big bar that will prepare your drinks on request. You can also find refrigerators and a buffet with all sorts of snacks and nibbles.

My selection

Nice view of the local traffic at Hanoi with mainly Vietnam Airlines aircrafts and a China Airlines Airbus 330.

The 777 on which I had just arrived from Seoul is being towed to a remote area where it will rest until its next assignment… maybe a flight to Europe !
photo P1040419

In the mean time, a Vietnam Airlines A330 will come and park just under hte lounge's windows.
photo P1040420

15 minutes before boarding I go to the gate but will first go through a multitude of souvenir shops.
photo P1040422

Our plane is on a remote stand and buses are taking us to the plane. A mini-bus is reserved for Business Class passengers.
photo P1040423

Our A321 is waiting for us near an Air Mekong Canadair Regional Jet.
photo P1040429

I climb the steps and am greeted by the female purser and the female cabin attendant that will look after Business Class.
photo P1040425

There are 20 seats in Business Class, 5 rows of 2x2 seats.

The legroom at my row.
photo P1040428

The cabin attendant will offer a choice of Champagne, water, orange or apple juice for the welcome drink.
photo P1040430

The cabin crew will welcome the last passengers to board the plane. A spanish tourist in a wheelchair and a doctor who are going to Bangkok. We'll be 5 passengers all together in Business Class. Load factor, 25%…
photo P1040431

Shortly after the doors are shut close and the ground staff will pull the stairs. Note that the cabin crew wears red and the ground staff blue.
photo P1040432

I see a LOT B767 that is resting in a remote stand. It arrived shortly after we landed from Seoul. This is the LOT 767 that did a belly landing in Warsaw after its flight home from New York.
photo P1040435

Before we depart the purser will put on the safety demonstration.
I took pictures relating to the aircraft only.
photo P1040437

photo P1040436

The stoppers are pulled and we'll be able to move and get to the take-off runway.

Ciudad de Sevilla, a spanish Casa.
photo P1040439

After take off a meal is served just after the crew took the order. No menus, the purser will announce each hot dish.

The service will be done rather quickly, a little too quickly as the cabin attendant is trying to give us everything at once, tray, drinks, hot drink and even the oshibori !

After she cleared the tray I recline my seat and this is the maximum recline on those regional flight seats.

On arrival in Bangkok, an amazing rainbow as it continues its arc further down !

During descent and landing you can see what is left of the having rains that poured on Thailand.
photo P1040447

We are park really far and the trek to immigration and baggage claim is impressive even with the moving walkways ! Immigration is real fast.

I pick up my suitcase at carousel 15 and I go outside to meet with my friends that flew in on China Airlines from LAX via TPE. We go back upstairs to catch our flight to Chiang Mai on Bangkok Airways.

Conclusion

Our flight is spot on time

Comfort is good, far better than the one found on european airlines such as BA, AF or LH...

The cabin attendant tried to expedite the service, otherwise I would have given her a better mark.

The meal was OK, dessert is unrecognisable for western taste, the pork in the main dish was a little hard.
