Before wrapping up my flight report for this epic journey, a quick recap….
My trip with Air Canada has taken me from Los Angeles to Toronto…… http://flight-report.com/en/report-8639.html
…..Toronto to Tel Aviv on Air Canada's brand new 787 Dreamliner in Premium Economy…….. http://flight-report.com/en/report-8762.html
…..Tel Aviv to Toronto also on Air Canada's brand new 787 Dreamliner in International Business Class: http://flight-report.com/en/report-8762.html
and now, Toronto to Los Angeles:
Flying from Toronto's Pearson International Airport is always enjoyable and Air Canada's Maple Leaf Lounges only enhance the airport experience. And Air Canada's wonderful Concierge service takes the experience to an even higher level (they look after you with great care and no detail goes unnoticed by them).
Once it was time to board, the Air Canada Concierge pre-boarded me for my flight. Once I was on-board, I paid a visit to the flight deck and the Captain mentioned to me that the flight would be pretty par for the course - except the takeoff would be a tad bumpy due to the high winds from an incoming storm. To overcome this, the takeoff would be a bit more powerful than usual. As you can see from this video, you can hear the sheer power from the engines as the Captain moved the throttles to 100% and the bumpiness just after takeoff was as expected. Despite the rough air, our Captain maneuvered this A320 with a great deal of nimbleness. Once we reached cruising altitude (35K feet), the flight smoothed out and remained so for the duration of our journey to the West Coast.
In true Air Canada style, a wonderful meal was offered - however, I chose to enjoy a salad and dessert so that I could sleep the remainder of the flight.
Special thanks to Akib Rubaiyat for his permission for me to use his photo for my cover page - as this is the actual aircraft which I flew and featured in this report. Please view Akib's Planespotter page here: http://www.planespotters.net/Member/akibmr92/photo.search
I always enjoy your reports on AC. You're so effusive about the experience, it really makes me wonder if, as an AC frequent flier, I'm not a little too jaded towards what they offer.
AWESOME! I'm so glad that you enjoy my reports! :-)
I think if you were to fly another airline, you'll see that AC makes a big difference service-wise and such. As an AC frequent flier, have you taken advantage of their Concierge services? That should make your experience even more pleasant :-)
Thanks for sharing. Your reports show that AC deserves it's reputation as the best carrier in North America. Soon AC will be flying longer transcon routes with flatbed equipped aircraft which will make the premium cabin experience even more enjoyable.
Thank you very much Kevin! Apologies for the tardy response - I have been traveling a great deal of late.
Indeed, AC is a great airline with service and a great team - something which should give the big 3 U.S. carriers cause to worry about. I'm looking forward to highlighting some of their new North American services in the coming months. In the meantime,, please be on the lookout for a very high-end flight report from me in the coming weeks. :-)
