Welcome to part three of the Asia trip. During the stay in Hong Kong, I also planned a few days holiday in Kagoshima. This is the first time for me to fly with Hong Kong Airlines. The airline is growing and expanding very fast in recent years providing fare much cheaper than Cathay Pacific Airways.

Due to the Hong Kong public holidays, the airport was flooded with people everywhere. I arrived at the airport by bus at 8:55am in the morning. When I reached the Hong Kong Airlines counter, there were tons of people queuing up for checkin. Firstly, I went to an automatic machine to print out the boarding pass and queued up to check my baggage. It took about 30 minutes until I finished the process.

Surprisingly, the security check was quite empty and we were through in no time. I still had some times to take the breakfast at the foodcourt after that. As I reached the gate, people were already lining up for boarding. Boarding was started at 10:20am which was 10 minutes later than the scheduled boarding time.

This gate 218 is located at one end of the Midfield concourse and it is impossible to take any shot of the aircraft. The view of the aircraft was totally blocked by the airbridge. B-LPC will operate the flight to Kagoshima today. This is a standard A320-200 that delivered to Hong Kong Airlines in May 2012 and equipped with 174 seats economy class.

View from my seat 47K. My seat was in the middle of the aircraft and there was a couple sitting next to me when I arrived, so I did not take any photo of my seat. The loading should be 100%, most of them were HongKonger and some mainland Chinese, did not observe any Japanese there.

Back of the seat. There was no PTV, no cup holder nor coat hanger.

Pushback was started at 10:42am which was a little bit ahead of schedule.

Entering the runway.

At 11:01am, we took off from RWY07R.

Right after takeoff, the plane turned right and passed through Hong Kong Island. Discovery Bay can be observed clearly during the banking.

Since there was no entertainment for the flight, I prepared a novel and spend the rest of time with it on the plane.

Flying over Taiwan.

There was also no refreshment before the complimentary meal. However, It took a very long time until the meal cart reached our row. The man sitting at the aisle seat was quite angry as the FA suddenly went to serve some rows behind. The passengers behind me were angry as well as the meal was ran out of choice, no more chicken option. The purser kept apologized and mentioned that they do not have enough crew today. So I thought I was quite lucky to have the "Chicken".

After the meal, I tried to fill out the landing card.
At 13:15, there was an announcement that we were going to land at 14:50pm Japan time.

Soon we entered the thick rain cloud.

Through the cloud we were very close to landing.

We touched down in the rain at 14:47pm Japan time. We taxi to gate 3 which is the only gate in international terminal.

Last view of my seat

The immigration was right outside the gate and everything went quite fast as it only handled one flight at the same time.
The arrival hall of the international terminal. I then asked the information center where the bus stop was located.

The bus stop number 3 heading for Kirishima.

The local bus that took me to the hotel.

Thanks for reading!
Thank you for your report.
Hong Kong Airlines A320 looks good condition.
Hong Kong Airport has a great facility for both transit and departure passenger. However, Kagoshima Airport looks like a typical Japanese local airport.
I'm looking forward to your next report.
