On the day of flight, I took the S-Bahn and arrived the airport at 10:15am. I had already completed the online check-in the night before and with my BP saved on my phone. Besides, I did not have any check baggage so I can head directly to the security checkpoint.
As shown on the Boarding pass, the gate was G14 and the scheduled boarding time was 12:45pm.
There was a Christmas market but most of the stalls were closed as the time was still too early.
There were few Christmas decoration in the departure lobby.
The security check point was almost empty and I was through in no time. BMW X3 was displayed at the usual place.
An Lufthansa A340-600, D-AIHC arrived from Boston as LH425
As I arrived at the gate G14, it was still handling the previous flight LH2068 to Hamburg.
I went to a restaurant nearby and ordered a spaghetti for lunch.
I spent 50 minutes there and then I decided to return to the gate and waited for my flight. As time went by, I could assume the loading was quite high by counting the people waiting in front of the gate.
At 12:09pm, my plane finally arrived from Hamburg. D-AIUR, an A320-200 with winglet version which was delivered in February 2016. This plane is equipped with the high density configuration of 180 seats.
Next to our gate parked the B747-400 of Thai International Airways HS-TGG arrived from Bangkok as TG924. It is really rare to spot a B747 now.
Boarding was commenced at 12:50pm.
Walking down the jetway.
My seat 22F. I chose the right side to avoid the direct sunlight.

At 13:08pm, boarding was completed and I had the seat next to me unoccupied. Soon before pushback, I could hear the running sound of the APU.
Pushback eventually started at 13:11pm. Flight time was expected to be one hour. "Christmas express to Hamburg is ready to go" said by the pilot.
Taxing to runway.
Without any stop, we lifted off from RWY26R at 13:20pm.
Seconds after take-off.
Right after take-off we banked to the left and headed towards the north.
The winglet
At 13:25pm, seatbelt sign was off and few minutes later Pickup was distributed to every passengers. Then I waited ten more minutes to get the coffee.

This month featured the B747 series.
At 13:58pm, I visited the lavatory, you can see the space inside was really really small for this A320 configuration.
The water basin was so tiny. As I was inside the lavatory, the seatbelt sign was on and followed by the announcement of descend, so I immediately returned to my seat.
Starting to descend from the cruising altitude.
Weather around Hamburg was not so good and we spent a long time passing through the thick rain cloud.
Almost there!!!
At 14:17pm, we touch-down on RWY23.
Taxing to the gate in the mild rain.
Reached the parking gate. Total flight time is 57 minutes.
